Can anybody recommend where I may get a 'reliable valuation on an amulet?

you can lookup the internet first. There are tons of magazines around. It will be not easy to verify an amulet until you have proof without a doubt of the origin. Many copies around. I used to have an original famous amulet and tested it. The answers varied and it is also a question of who wants it.

I gave mine to a friend who likes it very much.
