Thai buys cheapest.

HOLIDAYS in Thailand are now the best value in the world, a survey revealed yesterday.

Experts looked at the 13 items most trippers buy when abroad, like meals, drinks and film.

In Thailand — still recovering from the Boxing Day tsunami — they cost an average £65.45.

That compared to £154.60 in the most pricey destination, Norway.

Italy was the cheapest of the six euro-zone countries looked at and was half the cost of second most expensive, Ireland.

The highest cost of three-day car hire was also in Norway at £139.62.

The least expensive was in Spain at just £36.91.

Holidays: The reason we go to work - the carrot at the end of the stick!

Interesting to find out WHY people choose Thailand as their holiday destination too. Maybe somebody could start a POLL on the subject.

For me, Thailand represents good value for money (I get 30 baht to the Australian dollar). After airfares are paid: accommodation, meals and entertainment are quite cheap. Plus I like Thai people and their culture.

Thai holidays might be cheap in comparison but it's still the airfare that kills ya... :o

Hopefully all those "Sun" readers hang in Pattaya! :D
