Police on high alert for crime against teens on Valentine´s Day

BANGKOK: -- (NNT) - The police will increase checkpoints and dispatch more patrolling officers with a focus on entertainment venues on Valentine's Day.

Apart from the entertainment venues, crime-prone areas will also be patrolled during night time on Valentine’s Days this Sunday to prevent youths from falling victim to crime and deception, according to Police Spokesman Pol Lt Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen.

The police have also cooperated with hotels and nightclubs in keeping an eye on young people and reporting to the police immediately if minors are found in an age-restricted place.

Of course, minors are in no danger at any *other* time of the year.

:)

This has got to be one of the strangest-yet versions of the annual government Valentine's 'Sex Is Dangerous, Beware, Beware' messages.

Reminiscent of the seven days of danger back in western new year when all the drunken motorcyclists without party hats got pulled over for free coffees in a roadside tent, but at least it seems that they're doing their best to get the hang of western authoritarianism within the context of Theravada culture...

Of course they are in danger at any other time of the year, but there are times the potential of danger is higher than on others. Quite simple logic isn't it?

Yes, the morality police come out every year. Really bazaar. Last year they were warning teens to not get to familiar in public or risk being arrested. What a silly country this is sometimes.

So nice to see that the important criminal activities are being checked upon :) .

It is great to see ................. children are are future

Trouble is ......... all to often it is the youth doing the crime

Children are not our future, children are our new generation, our future ends in fading away.

"Really bazaar" Going shopping are we :D

How about "bizarre"

Or maybe how about investing in a dictionary :D

Perhaps proper punctuation such as some comma's and question marks after asking questions. Despite the fact that they may be rhetorical ones. Some full stops after your sentences perhaps?

I think everyone understood what he meant.

(edited for spelling era's)....errors.

It would be a long time if you are wanting to get into some girls knickers still if you have never been to Thailand "which it seems you haven't" I guess you could always do the 'chok wow thing' :D:)

Patience is a virtue,

Possess it if you can ...

Looks to me that Thais really don't know the real definition of "crime". See it more as a disturbance from their side. Crime there will always be but in the eyes of "the-men-in-brown" everthing is a crime and needs to be cracked down... in any case it generates income and that's what they want! :D:):D

Doing the same here in Melbourne Australia so what is the issue? Nothing unusual about this. It is a pro active appraoch and not a reactive one.

It's what comes out the back end of an elephant is what it is. Good to hear the Aussie police are as idiotic as Thai BIB's......

"pro active", yeah right, better stand back, I'm gonna hurl.

Thanks. That explains the stupidity of imitating the modern-day Australian authorities the way I never thought anyone would have taken me seriously if I'd written those same words myself, but I believe that we've found a way to cut down on fuel costs on international flights, now that we can jump on a plane to escape Australian madness and then touchdown on Suvarnabhumi, straight back in another imitation of phucking Australia.

All Hail Big Brother!

<not really. Thai police still have some kind of human understanding. God help us all if Thailand ever ends up as sad and sorry as Australia, but it won't. Thailand is stupid, but not THAT stupid>
