Bar girls, from baht 10,000 (salary) to much, much more with "tips"... Please.... University grads do not have fixed salary brackets, regardless of the university they went to. Bargirls on 10,000???? Hahaha. IF they get a salary it would be on average 3,000 (plus of course tips, drinks, and 'extras'). Many of them do not receive a salary however. Why bother posting if you don't know what you are talking about. OP, a few examples from my company: Newly graduated mech eng: 16k Senior elec eng: 60k My PA with Masters in English obtained in USA: 35k Admin staff: 12k Qualified accountant: 30k I think you should follow your own advice my friend! B/G's in soi 33 average monthly salary is 9,000 ++++ (drink commission, bar fine, negotiated fee with customer and tips) around Nana and cowboy the salary is slightly less. If they do not go to work one day they lose between 500-1000 of their salary. Some bars impose a minimum bar fine quota as well, usually around 10 /month and if the B/G fails to meet her quota her salary is reduced. I know this, not because I use their services but because I speak fluent Thai and have several friends with whom I socialise that are hooked up with B/G's Whilst I agree with your comment about no fixed brackets for University graduates there is definitely a heirachy regarding which university demands the higher salary, if for example you had two equally qualified grads applying for the same position, the grad from Chula or Thammasart would get the job ahead of the grad from Ramkaengheng or Kasetsart and they would generally be able to ask for the higher range of the starting salary. We are currently interviewing for a replacement for my assistant (who is leaving because she is grossly underpaid - Thai owner refuses to pay more) her duties will be mostly admin and database management and the salary range is 8-10 K. She must be a university graduate!

February 23, 201016 yr You need to get out more, that was the salary 15 years ago. My local bar must be stuck in the past then as the girls there get 3k a month.
February 23, 201016 yr You need to get out more, that was the salary 15 years ago. My local bar must be stuck in the past then as the girls there get 3k a month. MOST bars are stuck in the past. Every bar is different depending on where you are in Thailand. The women in Phuket expect, and get more there, but their costs are higher as well. Many bars employ freelancers who don't get a salary, but freelancers don't have restrictions either. They can come and go as they wish. The pretty, vivacious ones can earn a good living if they hustle, but don't do well if they don't. The normal rate has been around 3000 baht per month in Chiang Mai for years. They make up the extra by hustling drinks... and "extras". Some bars pay their staff more, but more is expected from them. Some bars provide accommodation as well as the salary. There ARE no set rules. And, despite popular belief... NOT ALL GIRLS WORKING IN BARS ARE FOR SALE! Having checked most of the low end paying jobs (clerks in 7-11 etc) they get around 6000 baht a month... if they are reliable. I know several farangs who have hired labourers for yard work and they pay 200 to 300 baht per day.
