Can anyone identify this seed pod, it’s length is 80mm I have not seen any more in the area; we have had strong winds so it could have come far and wide.

No doubt it will turn out something very common. THANKS

Since nobody has replied to your post for many days I took the liberty and posted your photo on a Horticultural list in the USA and today received this reply from a Mr. Robert Meyer who is a well known botanist in the US.

Your fruit is one section of a larger fruit of Pterocymbium tinctorium (Blanco) Merr., in the family Sterculiaceae (the same family as cacao). Its common name in Thailand is: po-khihaet

In the Phillippines, this tree was used for making wooden shoes. Perhaps it is used in construction in Thailand.
