My Thai fiancee still owes money on her truck. I want to pay it off and she says no because the bank will still charge the same total amount anyway; that we must pay the full interest for the time agreed no matter how quickly we pay it off. Do the banks really screw you like this in Thailand? Is someone lying to her?

If she is up to date on payments, the financecompany will normally discount half of the remaining interest. I dont see anyone being screwed up, its according to agreement.

In the reg book there are normally 2 names when financed, and vehicle must be transfered to the second name when payments completed.

Why would it be to screw someone to make someone pay what the contract that the person himself signed says?

But I have heard both, companies that are willing to deduct some and companies who don't.

I hope you are lucky
