:) More than once do we read in the media/tv about how "green" and "eco managed" this and that new resort or villa developement is. This year will witness the biggest water shortage ever seen, judging on the island's hotels water trucks deliveries. Yesterday Bandara used 12 huge tankers and you rarely pass a hotel without a water tanker outside. Hundreds and hundreds of private villas and upmarket resorts have been permitted to build splash pools, the latest being the Conrad, Four Seasons and Napasai, without any regard as to where the water will come from. Talk about digging your own grave..... rant finished.

The Koh Samui ' Green Project ' Was started by that woman from the Samui Channel. The one who does most things on that Channel. I think her name is Kratae ? Anyway yes the Samui Green project is not the greatest ' Green project around '. Most of them involved are the islands rich but not well educated familys and the Farangs involved dont want to say anything to offend these people. Yes the organise some events to help raise awareness for it... But someone forgot to tell them that it doesnt really help when they drive round the small island in there 4 x 4 s and big Cars! also it doesnt help that after they have finished building there big hotels and homes dumping all the left overs on the quite roads where the tourists dont see it. Opps. They are the sort of People who think Samui is heaven and nothing bad happens here. O well cant blame them for trying but it would help if they got someone to be the manager of there project who has a brain. :)

All these hotels and villas using water like it's not a scarce resource, make me sick! :) When us ordinary residents run out of water within the next 3 months, I will be taking my towel and shower cap to these hotels and demanding that I take a shower there. Why don't these resource hungry enterprises pay an infrastructure tax to help with this problem???

Screamingeagle, since when do you need a showercap? :):D

It's going to be an interesting period, April is just around the corner and the trucks are doign overtime as it is, right?

C'mon, these idiots are so anxious to buy ANY beach property they just did not think to check if there was a water table below them. Now from Chaweng Resotel to Nora Hotel you will alwats see a big tanker being unloaded
