BANGKOK: -- As a precautionary measures the Transport Ministry has assigned police and military officers to safeguard the operation of public buses

in Bangkok during the red-shirt rally which is scheduled to kick off in Bangkok on March 14.

I hope this extends to the BTS and MRT - Normal buses wont be much use if the roads are blocked with Protesters... but at least the trains can get around! Otherwise Bangkok will be 'walking room only'
