Is it just me or are any of you getting fed up with the same topics and posts on other parts of this website? You would think that people would do a search on previously answered posts/threads! But maybe not. Just passing a judgement. maybe i'm wrong but i get a bit bored relying to the same stuff. Any coments?

There is, as you point out, a wealth of knowledge about Thailand - that is festering away in back-topic.

It requires investment of time, money and resources, but valuable FAQs could be created on a range of topics, which would mean that archive searching is not necessary.

Someone like Scouser is going to get very bored indeed if he has to answer identical questions, when he has replied on earlier threads.

I'm not saying Scouser should write FAQs but its an easy matter for someone to go through all his posts and distil it.

Could be put in book form, with the costs of publishing so cheap in Thailand.

I'd do it for them myself - if the fees were right.

All the info is there, its just a case of plodding through it topic by topic and cross-checking the facts, rewriting and sub-editing it.

And how to separate truth from fiction? Hot tip from hot air? :o

And how to separate truth from fiction? Hot tip from hot air?

Its not difficult. Just cross checking. Chapters on:-

Visas for abroad

Visas for Thailand

Land/Condo Purchase

Legal rights of farangs

Traffic law

Driving licenses

Marrying a Thai

Advertising could be sold.

Someone's going to do it, with or without George's imprimatur. The ethical thing to do would be some kind of collaboration.

I recall someone enquired whether they could use the information contained in Thai Visa for a book. If they change the original wording substantially, then they could - Visa information per- say is publicly available information.

Might be a good idea for the patient Scouse.

But if we are going to do a book thing, how about something more juicy - with some of the posts 'round here .... :o Or maybe suggest it to a psycholgy student for their thesis

There’s an easy doctorate for a trip-cyclist:

* Premise – most ex-pats are dipsticks

* Proof – postings on Thaivisa

* Result – D. Psych (University of Khazakstan)

Moog, you could have waited until tomorrow – you didn’t have to prove the premise straight away.
