Ais 3g Data

Featured Replies

Couple of questions about AIS's pay-as-u-go data dongles.

1 ) How do you top them up or recharge them? How do you get a 'recharge code' so I can do it when plugged into the laptop. I understand that this is different from the standard top-up cards from 7-eleven, etc..

2 ) I have another pay-as-u-go SIM in my Nexus but would also like the cheaper GPRS data rates to be available on same mobile number, ie. voice at voice rates and data at data rates. Does this mean I need a new SIM or can it be added by a service operator? Who handles such transactions as there's a few different mobile phone service shops to chose from.

Thanks!

save your time by calling 1175. they speak good english.

Very true for the above, but I have had an occasion or two that their hot line could not help so I went into their main office, not a satellite office, excellent service.

Thanks for that hookup! Called them and now have 2000 minutes of GPRS on the Nexus and 3000 minutes on the dongle.

This is timely since ToT have yanked my land line (and hence lost my 3BB service) as I haven't paid my phone bill for 3 months. This was due to the actual phone/voice line never working (no dial tone and when you call in you hear a ringing tone but the phone never, ever rang). The TT&T Maxnet and latterly 3BB worked fine but the wife was loath to keep paying for a phone line that didn't support the actual phone. We reported it to ToT several times and they gave us a number to call for a tech but the tech never, ever came. So after this was explained to the nice ToT lady again and that they can expect past-due payment only after the phone service is actually working and restored, she says she will speak to her boss. We will see....

I have had a couple of times of useless service on 1175, I just call back 10 mins later, get another person who has been able to help. So try again if in doubt.
