I am sorry for the loss, but cannot understand how anyone knows that a dead body was "Lonely and Forlorn."

I can think of many worse ways to end ones days than being 'P!ssed in Pattaya'.

R.I.P. Wally

As one says we all die alone in the end. Anyways RIP Wally - sure you lived a good life. :)

Thanks Sharecropper. You beat me. My condolences to the friends and family.

I liked this bit:

The True Circumstances Behind The Mysterious Death Of Mr. Wally

Condolences.

If (the collective) "you" were his friends ... I guess he considered his options carefully .....

i have known Wally Bishop for many years both in UK and in Thailand

he was far from being lonely and forlorn as the headline and the news story on Pattaya daily news suggests

in the UK, he was a highly regarded licensee for Bass Breweries before retiring here on a substantial pension

he was a good hearted, generous soul who like many expats here drank too much, smoked too much and partied too much

for a time he did open a bar on Soi 7 with his partner Gung, (not wife) of 14 years

it was not called the Wally Bar. as suggested by reporters

the bar was not a success and it eventually closed but no one ''did a runner'' with any money as suggested by some, least of all Gung

today she is still at the house they shared for the last nine years and she is distraught at the loss of her long time partner

its easy to throw some tit bits of gossip together to make an interesting news story but it does not make it the truth

Wally had been a party guy all his life

he had many friends here and in UK

in my opinion, Wally just wore himself out

he really did live every day like it was his last

yesterday he was correct

Rest in In Peace (though i somehow doubt it)

Wally enjoy the party wherever you are.........

Read on another board that he ran the "Foxhall" on the prom in Blackpool, may have met him if he was there in the early 70's. We all have to one day. Hope I get to spend a few years in Thailand before it's my turn. RIP Wally.

Didnt know the guy but RIP WALLY.

Sounds like he had many years of fun after retiring,so good on you sir

Sad but not untypical ending for another foreign expatriate in Pattaya. Alcoholism is the monkey on many a back in Pattaya...at least he wasn't too young and from some of the posts lived an interesting life.

Have a great next incarnation you atoms of Wally.

I'm with you TimeKeeper. I have known Wally for the last 6 years. I actually met him on my very first day in Thailand a while ago... Been friends ever since.

I don't wish anyone being in the Thai press when they go

RIP Wally, sadly missed

Before Scott comes on to offer his condolences, let me offer mine.

He certainly must have large stocks of condolences ole scotty.

RIP to the brit chap.
