Hi all visa experts,

Just a short question regarding what types of bank accounts are approved.

I have been looking in to different banks/bank accounts here in Thailand and if I understand correct I can apply and get a securities account in e.g. Siam Commercial Bank.

So to my question.

Could a statement from a Thai securities account be used when applying for Non-immigrant O (marriage) visa in Penang or Singapore?

A fund account is not accepted by immigration as is not instantly accessible. Fixed term deposit accounts are normally accepted.

I have a friend with account holding Thai government bonds and it was rejected by immigration because it was not instantly accessible.  Cash accounts only were okay including fixed term accounts.

Thank's for the fast answers.

Not much to do then except maybe fixed term.....

I just hate to have such sum inactive and not earning better interest.

Why would it be inactive? For a visa in a place like KL you would need proof of the 100k amount in the bank when you make the application only. But I suspect such an account may be accepted in KL - Penang and Singapore do not normally issue multi entry non immigrant O visas. Believe Penang will only issue with account of 800k currently.
