FYI

I've been hearing this light clunk noise in my 2007 Camry. My dealer said they couldn't find it. I finally asked my Thai friend with the same car and she had the problem fixed.

Basically, it's the intermediate shaft, or in thai, yoi pomolai.

The noise is like a light clunk that can also be felt through to the steering wheel. It happens during low speed turns, going up/down parking ramps.

It has been discussed in Thai Camry forum, I can't read Thai so you'll need this translated:

It seems that this problem is an issue to the first batch of the new generation Camry's. My dealer probably ignored me because I'm the idiot farang that know's nothing.

CV joint problem. Take the service manager on a test drive to the parking garage or any other place you can duplicate the noise.

It isn't the CV. Had the tech guy test drive and he could not duplicate the problem.... so no problem. But at that time, I didn't have a clue to where the sound was coming form....ie: suspension, CV, ball joints, etc...

Just so happens I have a friend who also drives a Camry and we exchangd stories and voila... she told me of the forum that some members are complaining about.

Will be taking the car to the dealer with this specifics and see what they say now.
