Damage around Phan Fa Bridge estimated at Bt5m

BANGKOK: -- Property damage caused by the monthlong redshirt rally at Bangkok's Phan Fa Bridge has been estimated at Bt5 million.

The area was surveyed after supporters of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra abandoned their protest site and moved to Rajprasong intersection, deputy Bangkok governor Phornthep Techaphaiboon said Monday.

Bt4 million would be needed to repair or replace the 200 or so streetlights damaged in the area, and another Bt1 million for some 100 square metres of pavement that was left in ruins.
