planemad
Hi, I dont know if you have found the name of this species yet, if not, then I can help. It is called the Moustached Parrakeet (with some basic variations to the name), anyway, you can get much more information here - http://www.avianweb.com/moustachedparakeets.html I hope this helps. planemad

Putu94
how is your iguana's personality? we found that the oldre they get, they become rather nasty (to them its natural male/female intruder behavior) to us its tail whipping and bites... what do u feed them? Hi Bina Our Iguana have great personality we can feed them by hand and get along with the dragons and the birds it is mainly a matter of education Our Iguana was 6 weeks when we got him ( now 4 years). The only thing we have to do is to be careful with his nails My son with "Godzilla" Godzilla with our dragons Maybe you know, but here some tips Iguanas need a pool to put his faeces, and to swim a bit It is no problem you can use a filter and keep fishes like Guppy They like to sleep high. A problem can be ants but simply use dog powder there where the ants are. Give them green vegetable like Pak Bung, or buy in the pet shop dry green vegetables ( make them a little wet) Also you can try Papaya It is almost time for hibernation, they will not move much and eating less . If you want to touch them avoid wild movements they have a a parietal eye(3 eye) to alert them to aerial predators. They love if you touch them on the head or subtympanic shield. We can feed our Iguana by hand but remember this; Iguanas have many very sharp, jagged and dangerous teeth that are very capable of shredding leafy foods, as well human skin! Whipping of his tail means that /he/she is afraid , but it is a also matter of education. Cheers

Putu94
Great post Putu94. It's great to see you aviary's and breeding parrots Thanks for taking the time to take some great pictures. Thanks Dlock, It is a nice hobby to do besides I'm busy now to learn them free flight, first inside en later out site , it will take a few months. In the same time I not believe that hand feed baby's are closer to you, then the one who are feed by mam and dad ( human thought) It is better to try to understand the instinct . (The next breeding we will sell) a picture more the way they can sleep or rest Edited November 8, 2010 by Putu94

Putu94
Hi Lesdunbar Yes I know it is difficult with the cockatiel, I can take them in my hands but that is all. The Aratinga's are very social, (I will attach some pics with my son.} At the moment I come in to the Aviary they coming to sit on my head and shoulder. I breed them myself and train them, at the moment the start to fly . In about 5 months the can fly outside and coming back when I call them It takes about 2 hours a day. But anyhow I'm still very careful to let them in the free flight cheers Edited December 1, 2010 by Putu94

tim armstrong
I have to say I was a bit cautious when first starting to read your post as there are so many 'dodgy' aviary keepers around, and so many smuggled birds. But its a pleasure to see someone in Thailand, with his family, taking such a close and professional interest in these birds and animals. Congratulations and all the best with your work.
