Ever heard of misleading information? He did use to be a PM of Thailand you know? They're masters of such techniques...

But not masters of Photoshop, obviously. I think you give him too much credit. Even without the one the beach that is blatently superimposed, even to the naked eye, you could probably even use Paint to prove that the rest of the pics were fake. How could somebody with that much money and connections not use a pro to produce fake pictures? Anyone with the most basic graphics software knowledge could produce pics better than the ones that were released, which just points to a rush job and is very telling.

Well, in order to stop this rumour, the man better give a live interview by a reliable media like BBC or CNN to confirm that he's still alive. Other wise, I would rather think there is a possibility that he's really laying on his deathbed.

I think he is laying low for legal reasons. If the reds lose, as they have now used terrorist tactics, he is going for plausible deniability. Otherwise, he may not even be safe even in Montenegro. Note that his recent twitter says he is FOLLOWING the red shirts. He deliberately said that rather than he is LEADING them. If you are a leader of terrorists, that could cause legal problems with international travel. If they win, he will make a miraculous comeback.

Personally I think it's all an elaborate hoax that could potentially benefit all sides.

Think about it, Thaksin fakes his death - 99% of the Reds go home leaving just the hardcore leaders to be rounded up. Political stalemate over. Thaksin fakes his death and is "off the hook" for the crimes he got convicted for. Lie low in a nice location, have a bit of plastic surgery e.t.c and all's good for him too. Da da - everyone's a winner!

It is rather odd that the photo you provide has had all data wiped from it in terms of date info creation info etc. One would think that with so many TV crews around him and so much excitement there would have been coverage on the Montenegran news. Nothing, nada, zilch!

An odd statement issued by one press agency

Although this has been uploaded on the 26th April, this is an older video. This is from when Thaksin received his Passport in Montenegro, hence his language. The reporter asks if he is Montenegran now and he replies yes I am Montenegran now! At no point does any reporter ask about the rather significant news surrounding Thaksin of the riots in Bangkok, They just ask about his supporters. It is a hoax I tell you. If this is real, I will eat my shorts. This video is from pre May 2009. Betcha!

In Uganda today? Surely air traffic control can verify his plane landed, and for that matter, departed russia previously.

Suffice to say unless there is a live interview with him on bbc, al jazeera, cnn, britmav or anyone else can tweet away on his behalf and nobody will believe it.

How about a live interview on NBT so he can voice his concerns about their coverage?

Him dying would be just too convenient and the government has so far always been totally wrong with the rumours they created about his whereabouts.

I rather go for the idea that he sits in Dubai all this time, from where he has all his technics set up to do his phone-ins, and it is easily reachable from Thailand by plane to hold private face-to-face meetings.

Maybe the endless tries of the Thai government to shut him up has led to some success, eg if he is "officially" in Uganda then nobody in the government in Dubai can start moving against him.

A person having late stage cancer would not go through the enormous stress to finance an organization like the reds. Survival and gettign thorugh any necessary procedure would outweigh pretty much every other consideration.

Just my thoughts.
