Thinking about making a visa run to Penang and would like to know if anybody has any current experience in this regard? Just need a tourist visa.

Not sure about a Tourist Visa but Penang Consulate has a habit of being pedantic about paperwork. The KL Embassy is a much more user friendly place.

I have done this (last time was about 1 year ago). There was no problem. We did it through a tour office (20 ringgit for a service charge, the visa was free on that time. are they still?) you can do it yourself as well, but much easier this way and probably no cheaper. i have heard there are problems with back to back visas, but i have lived here 5 years and have a passport full of purple stamps, and have never had a problem.

I was toying with the idea of actually relocating there permanently.

The attraction,- Farang friendly Govt rules. Like 10 years unlimited entry visa. Can buy anything. No 90 days reporting, etc.

Any PROs or CONs from some people with experience?
