Tallforeigners picture are well chosen propaganda pictures of peaceful red shirts, old people, monks and whats make me so sad, small children, who have no choice of their own to be in the red fort. This is the people the red leaders and Dear Leader wants to fight to the death, because of the selfish aim of the leaders. I say shame, shame, shame, one thousand times shame on you!!!!

Why not baa SHAME ON YOU ONE THOUSEND TIMES on the people who support a violent crackdown by a army ready do shot at protesters?

That the reds are terrorists is the propaganda here.

SHAME ON YOU!!!

If they are merely protesters, why are they armed? Why do they preach the violent overthrow of the government? Why do they require payments to display their "righteousness"?

Apparently mazeltov missed the "fight to the death" .. and Sae Daeng's Ronin .... and the armed guards ... and the armed reds ... and the gasoline soaked tires ... and the calls for violence and burning down of buildings etc etc etc ...

Apparently he missed the attacks on 1st Reg, the attacks on ThaiCom, the kidnappings, the raids on the hospitals incuding the removal of evidence (bodies). The ritual blood pooring, the attacks on the leaders of groups that oppose the reds, the attacks on businesses that the reds think oppose them, the attacks on Newin's family's businesses, etc etc etc .....

Apparently he missed the grenades, the grenade launchers, the bombs, the military weapons etc etc etc ....

I say surround them. Give them time to leave. Shoot those that use weapons against the military/police/government troops. Those that attack with petrol bombs etc are fair targets too.

Those that rush barehanded should be dealt with using less than lethal force when possible. Teargas, Water, LRAD, batons etc ... but the military and police should not be willing to take losses at the hands of an armed violent mob.

Today Thai country People will face their destiny...

Poor country People, exploited during years and centuries by the Elite, but also exploited by ambitious politicians from both sides.

They have no choice they are there for begging a little improvement for tomorrow, more for the future generations than for themselves. Generously, they put their life at stake facing History and Eternity: I wish than tomorrow will not be a bitter day.

My deepest respect

Seconded!

I third this with a huge buttttttttttttttttt

They have seen and heard about the trouble from April 10th

Yet they still choose to put themselves on possible harms way

I do not cal it "generously" I would call it "foolishly" or "Suicidely"

Wow, aren't you the expert on amulets.

A friend of mine, specialist for Buddha amulets, told me, Jatuporn shows amulets for minimum a half million baht- and up.

This tactic reminds me of the street beggars that use puppy dogs and young babies to illicit sympathy and support. It's sickening that a parent would willing put their child in this situation.

Poor kid is probably half deaf from the loudspeakers and must be convinced after two months on the street that her family is homeless. But she did get a fancy headband, she must have won it for being the smartest protester.

So if these women and children don't leave the protest area, do you still support the army using live bullets against them? :)

Again... what parent would put their child in this situation?

Okay, so the parents are stupid. Does that justify the army killing women and children?

More importantly, does it justify having the Police and Military cave in because the stupid parents brought their children? If that becomes the rule then expect all robbers, etc to have children with then while committing an offence.

How can you respect someone who is willing to sacrifice a child to get their way?

More specifics released on tonight's festivities:

CRES to begin isolating UDD rally at 18.00 hrs today

BANGKOK, 13 May 2010 (NNT) – The Center for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES) has drawn a deadline at 18.00 hrs today for the anti-government protesters to leave Ratchaprasong Junction, warning that countermeasures will be imposed.

During the press briefing this morning, CRES Spokesperson Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd declared that the authorities were ready to block the roads and cut off the water and electricity supplies in the Ratchaprasong area from 18.00 hrs today to pressure the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) demonstrators to vacate the rally site.

The facility systems are being altered to minimize the impact on the Ratchaprasong residents. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kasit Piromya has also ensured that the operation will not affect the 17 foreign embassies located in the area.

The procedure will be carried out at Ratchaprasong and its perimeter, including Pathumwan, Pratunam, Chid Lom, and Sala Daeng Intersections.

Phaya Thai Road, Phetchaburi Road, and Wireless Road will be closed to traffic and public transportation.

General commuters other than the local residents will be forbidden from entering the area.

UDD supporters who wish to leave the rally site can notify the officers for free transport back home.

All business operators have been asked to temporarily close their shops to facilitate the operation.

Col Sansern added that armored trucks would be sent in to prevent ill-intentioned individuals from instigating violence.

He affirmed that the vehicles would only be used as barriers in case of a terrorist attack to prevent damages and avoid unnecessary battles. However, armed forces will be deployed in the area to prevent untoward incidents.

Calm down parrot and get a sense of humor.

Along with getting a sense of humour why not provide the whole quote where the OP Does acknowledge that they are amulets and does know that they are worn for protection? Redparrot you are learning some bad habits from those you admire -twisting and leaving out all the facts to suit you.

anyone know how many red shirts left at protest site

Here you will see a photocollection showing the Rajprasong protest area. It is updated with many new photos nearly everyday. The latest update is from yesterday. Make your own estimate on how many people are there.

From what I have seen a few hours ago it's about similar today. At this time there are usually less people on the street and most are still sleeping in their tents and under the shadows of the bts tracks, condominiums, hotels and shopping malls. Usually after 5pm the people start to get up and you will see many more on the street.

If I have got time today I will shoot some more photos and upload them.

Have a good look at all those people! These are the people the army will point their guns at.

Ratchaprasong

I'm just here to show. Photos tell more than a thousand words. I'm not here to discuss politics and I will not answer any comment.

Sob! Sob!

So moving!

These lovely pictures really opened up my eyes! :D

Gives me a perfect portrait of the lovely Red Shirts and their lovely quest for so-called "democracy."

So they're really only a collection of quaint paid idiots - old idiots, female idiots, the kids of idiots and corrupt so-called "monks"? :D

Sob! Sob! :D

No rabid Thaksin-owned firebrand (so-called) 'leaders' - paid mini Hitlers spouting vile diatribes and inciting raw hate? No paid, heavily-armed, trained mercanaries? No psychotic sangsom-swilling, yabba-scoffing paid yokels?

No bombs, grenades, automatic rifles or other heavy weaponry? No molotov cocktails, knives or stone-age 'spears'? No hoards of gasoline? No crazy gasoline sodden barriers?

Sob! Sob! :D

And I guess, logically, Thaksin's misrepresented too? He's really a kind-hearted, patriotic, selfless saint?

Sob! Sob! :D

Well OK then! Give Thacky and his poor innocent Reds everything they want NOW!!

A misunderstood innocent collective, so harmless they wouldn't kill a fly!

.........Yeah, unless the fly was resting on a soldier or on a cop! ... Or on an innocent bystander! ... Or on a fellow terrorist!!

I've been down to that open sewer and the place is heavy with the array of real terrorists parading their realm. Yeah, cowards amongst the masses of idiotic paid human shields.

.... Come on, you Red Shirt drone! Who the hel_l's going to swallow your dumb propoganda? :)

Let's hope for a fast and not bloody end.

I hope, tear gas, ruberbulits, stun grenades, ... , will allow to arrest Taxins puppets.

The protests will never end, if the goverment does not can cut the heads of the responsible protest leaders and the one of the monster behind all this mess.

You have no right to say that. Thailand is not your home country. I would like to say more, but I would probably be suspended from Thaivisa.

Thailand is my home country. Can I say it?

I have a weird feeling... that the cops/army will all be using BLANKS. That way, when people are killed by gunshot wounds, they have incontrovertible proof that it was not them... gotta out-sneak the sneaky red rats...

Well let's see. The government has been more than patient in my humble opinion. They can't let this drag on. Had this been China and may other places the Reds would have been forced out long ago. I hope that no one is killed, but if they are so stupid to think they can over throw the government which has the support of the police and army, they are mad.

Thank God this is not China!!!!!! A very repressive place.

Shame they don't have some kind of mass taser device that could be used on a dozen or so people with each shot.

Give a rest.

There are terrorists mixed in with the reds and using them for cover. It would take some pretty clueless people not to have noticed that some guys were carrying BIG guns. The fact they do not shun them and turn them over to the authorities indicates acceptance. They are guilty by association and will bear responsibility for whatever happens as a result of their compliance.

The government has a short memory. This crackdown won't work. People will die. It will create further rifts in society. At some point there will be elections and slightly less than 50% of Thais will vote reds. Discussion is best.

More propoganda from Jerry.

The reds got a concession from the government for new elections. There was a fair and reasonable reconciliation plan on the table that was backed by everyone including their moderate members BUT not backed by Thaksin and his cronies. They spit on reconciliation and continue to hold the entire country's economy hostage. They are armed and violent and have shown this on many occasions. They don't deserve respect at all. They deserve to be removed from this illegal protest site and tried for terrorism, sedition, insurrection, treason, failure to comply with lawful orders etc.

Those found guilty of the big 4 deserve the consequences they have worked so hard for. Those that are only guilty of failure to comply with lawful orders should be given probation and sent home. A condition of the probation should be that they refrain from joining any gathering that is illegal for the next 10 years. should they join another illegal protest they should spend time in jail.

I wish that this could end without more violence but it is my firm belief that Thaksin needs more martyrs to gain his goal ... so he'll spend red lives like water if he needs to.

Monks as protesters,

this is NOT buddha's teaching,

what are they thinking?

They aren't real monks as typified by this red monk at the rally:

25985101883159853134.jpg

Most gangsters, when the police gets too close to them, or immediately after a murder disappear up country and become a monk until the heat has gone. Killers, robbers can all be found in saffron robes - this one looks a typical example - real monks are not supposed to smoke and I wonder what is in the bag ? 9mm alms ?

if any monk gets hurt in the crossfire many foreigners and foriegn may be shocked to see peaceful monks getting hurt or worse. Yet Thai's know that all monks are not trully religious and some are actully fellons. it's an open secret. and it seems like some of these guys are helping the reds with the propaganda

What exactly is happening in that photo? I see both military and red shirts there.

Also, for other people:

graphic image, look at your own risk.

Of course the army guy just fell on the street and hurt himself :)

Sorry to spoil the spiel of so many farang mini-fuehrers, but the issue is very simple. If you just want 'law & order', you cheer for the guns & jackboots solution. But 6 army coups in 40 years (I've read) seem to suggest that brute force & violence solve nothing without justice. So let's have another peaceful election. But many posters don't seem to want to learn any lessons from history. Like the proverbial dog, they prefer to return to the old vomit.

It's an ominous sign of our times that many farang posters here could have been raised & educated in the Hitler Youth. Few have a clue what democracy is about. Even the worst democratically-elected government is better than the best authoritarian gang of mobsters.

Can't surrender to mob rule? Inept Mr T's democratically elected government was ousted by a mob, just it was a much better tooled-up & organized mob than the Red protesters.

Women, old people, & children present? Bah! Pity & sympathy are signs of weakness! So march in, shoot, kill. They asked for it. Heil Hitler!

How utterly, abjectly disgusting this Brute Force & Ignorance Tendency is! Are they our future globally? God help the world.

Vox populi, vox dei – a lesson the Roman empire learned from the Christians, who held that all people are equal before god. Altho the Romans (like Hitler & Stalin) were hot on law & order, they were not so hot on justice. Behind the marble facades, they were just a filthy bunch of very well-organized barbarians - lesson from history for us all there, eh? OGT

Old Git ... you should do some more reading.

Check out the bit about Thaksin not being elected (democratically or otherwise) at the time of the coup.

No actions YOU wouldn't gladly do if YOUR army had stolen your democracy.

But you're right, Aphisit sure looks cute and cuddly.

55555 more red propaganda.

In other news, the word "propaganda" is now to be understood as "truths the media doesn't let you say."

What rubbish is this? Did no one have a right to say anything about the US invasion of Iraq unless they were Americans or Iraqis?

Please people, neither parrot nor accept this nonsense that race determines whether you have a right to express an opinion on ANYTHING.
