Rideau
Regardless of your political views, a human being - unlike yourself - is suffering and may die.Where is your compassion? My compassion is reserved for the people this beast has maimed and killed. Have you ever read any of his loony interviews boasting about how many people he's killed? Whoever took him out has probably just saved quite a few lives. Right on.

JohnLeech
Low Caibre bullets to the head/chest. Could be an outside force. Perhaps Japanese... I think the japanese left in 1945....................... True about the low calibre, probably 5.66mm. If the military were going to do it I'm sure they would have used an appropriate weapon and not a low calibre slug like this. New theory is that the Red leadership and the government agreed this would be a good solution. I am guessing k1w1 was being a little tongue in cheek and referring to another head shot assassination over 60 years ago when the Japanese were blamed for it, and a couple of innocents were charged, executed and later declared innocent. As for your own "expert" assessment of the situation: There is no such thing as a "low calibre" (or high calibre) weapon, only high or low velocity weapons and high or low calibre people. Weapon calibres are large or small (or heavy or light). The only 5.66mm calibre cartridge is a highly specialised Soviet one. As it was designed exclusively for use underwater I can't see it being used here! I presume you mean 5.56mm, which is the standard NATO calibre, used in the majority of assault rifles world-wide (M16, SA80, TAR 21, etc), and which would be more than adequate. Speculate all you want - just try to avoid bringing in the technical BS.

mausplan
Interesting turnaround , Seh Daeng , in the press tonight , seems to have gone from total looney to wounded hero in one instant. How quickly people forget he wanted to incite violence and fight to the death.

Abrak
His absence can only be a plus for Thailand. I just do not see this point at all. 1) If it was Abhisit's responsibility it makes him look stupid. 2) If it was the Reds it was a desperate but effective away of regaining legitimacy 3) And if it was all for the idea of creating a coup it was a pretty smart move. I do not see what good will come of it.

JohnLeech
I would think many of the reds wanted to get rid of Thaksin's pet soldier. His assination would server the reds in two ways. Getting rid of Seh Daeng thereby making him a martyr while blaming Abhisit. Couldn't ask for a better propaganda win than that. Shooting Thaksin would be a better one - especially under similar circumstances!

animatic
This changes things. Lets hope that the more moderate leaders will be able to talk to Abhisit about the road map with out him threatening them. Also lets hope it doesnt go the other way and his men in black don't go out looking for revenge. Typo He has always proved willing to talk, untill those across the table refused repeastedly. I can't see him not continuing to talk with those acting in good faith.
