Centara Grand At Central World

Featured Replies

We have all seen the news that Central World could collapse at anytime, but I was wondering about the hotel as there really haven't been much information if it was affected. Does anyone know if it is also in danger of collapse?

It looks like most of the damage was in ZEN section. The rest seems to be in a good shape. It is possible the burring was done after looting to cover the looting

From the pictures it looks that way hopefully it wasn't affected to bad, Central World gone is bad enough!

The Hotel will reopen in approx 1 week or so.

Staff will start the clean up at May 26th.

I've been told that there is no damage from the fire, just a lot of dust.

From what I understand, Zen will have to be demolished and rebuilt, Central World itself is damaged, but safe and will be repaired and reopened in approximately 6 months. The hotel and CPN tower were supposed to be in good condition, just a bit blackened from soot and smoke.

Pictures were posted yesterday from with the Central World portion of the building and it appears largely undamaged by fire, just looted and flooded.
