It must of been a funny sight to see me darting around chasing that butterfly with the viewfinder glued to my eye. Red Helen looks right. Me I gotta wait till they stop, good one. I think this is actually a "Common Rose" Pachliopta aristolochiae goniopeltis It has too many white bars to be a Red Helen, I would have thought. Used to think they were toads however have been informed by many people they're padi field frogs and I have eaten a bunch of em since then. Light tan & light brown in colour with a bit of yellow on their "spikes". I showed the bride mate , she reckons it is a , try to transliterate here " Gung Gop " , anyways I will not be munchin' on one . I have had crickets , grasshoppers, snakes , those beetles they call Mangda , water scorpions here in Oz they are known by , Have eaten frogs , but the flat brown roadside Kermit-jerky I am staying well away from ... There are somethings this body ain't built for and that is one of 'em !
