mazeltov
Look at the democrats, they did the same thing - just on a more masseive scale and eventually they will be dissolved. Eventually they will be dissolved? How are you privy to this information? The case against the Democrats is ongoing. Nobody knows if the will or if they won't be dissolved. One thing we do know is that if they are, the reds will embrace the decision as just, despite their claims of the system being infair and rigged when the PPP was dissolved. you are right, the court didn't came to an judgement yet. But the thing you don't know is that there is a 90% confidence that the democrats will get dissolved. According to Maj-Gen Kittisak Ratprasert it will happen after the 12. August. (source: Thai Rath) I think we can consider and trust Maj-Gen Kittisak Ratprasert as a reliable source in that issue. and keep that distinction in mind when talking about the alleged red "terrorists" or all that "crimes" Thaksin is accused of but was never found guilty by a court. Personally i'm not interested in someone's opinion of what a court ruling will be, i'm interested in what the court rules. and keep that distinction in mind when talking about the alleged red "terrorists" or all that "crimes" Thaksin is accused of but was never found guilty by a court. As far as Thaksin is concerned, the chance to establish his innocence or guilt in many cases has been denied because he absconded. In my opinion, those who abscond should be given a time-frame in which to show up at the courts, and if they fail to do so, they should be declared guilty. animatic
... with 2 wives, (a Muslim) ... can we please keep his wives and his religion out of the debate? Facts are facts and the fact that he is Muslim explains why he can have more than one wife according to his religion; but it's against Thai laws, although more or less "accepted" in his (and others') case...... That's why I mentioned it. In other words: he won't be prosecuted for having two wives....or will he? LaoPo No law says you can't live with two women, nor does it say you can alternately sleep with two women. It's done every day by far too many here. In Islam if he can afford it he can have multiple wives. So he can have a 'religious ceremony' and take an 2nd wife. The legal aspect ONLY comes upif he goes to the Ampur and legally tries to marry #2. Next interesting tidbit is that anyone actual thinks muslims are part of the "Thai Elite" This grand elite seems to expand and contract to fit in whom ever a poster thinks is against his red / neosocialist arguments. Next point is. The people voted the constitution in. And so the PEOPLE can decide next election if he is electable under the constitution they voted yes on. There is sufficiant reasons to think of this last coup, while not best choice, as a premptive strike against an impending Thaksin coup. Thaksin's actions since then leave no doubts of his malevolent intentions to take power. Thaksin was not a validated Interim Prime Minister at the time of this coup, his term had expired, and he had resigned. But he was clearly maneuvering to get a SOE and martial law, even if he had no legal authority under the circumstances of that time to order such a new legal footing, with him as sole controler of the affairs of state, lacking ANY body as a check and balance. When the time comes let the VOTERS decide on General Sonthi. That would be democratic. In the mean time; investigate ANYTHING that is of questionable legal status referencing Thaksin, who continues to try and take back power. If Thaksin wants to try the Human rights / mass murder charges gambit on the international stage, he should be prepared for the same in return. Throw the book at him, any and ALL books. Let the flames begin. Edited June 12, 2010 by animatic
