Cheaper Short Term Rentals, Apartments?

i will be staying in bkk for 6 weeks- looking for a reasonably priced rental. either by the week or month. prefer the Suk. soi 30-70 area and am definitely open to other fairly central areas...though not too familiar. how about at other ends of the sky train?

last time i was there i just walked around and went into apartments to look around..had a friend talk to a few landlords for me. the units were quite cheap. small, simple, clean, AC..but most wanted a 6 month lease. i think 5000-8000B/month. for that price i might just do it anyway and let them keep my deposit when i leave. dont wanna burn any bridges though

any thoughts would be appreciated

btw- does anyone know when that projected skytrain extention is due to be finished? out near the new airport
