Old Airport To New Airport

Featured Replies

Hello

Just wanted to know some info on getting from the old airport to the new one? i know i can get the taxi, but was wondering if there was an alternative way? bus transfer/rail link..etc

Is there a rail link to Suvarnabhumi from the center of Bangkok? skytrain/metro/bus?

Any advice would would be greatly appreciated

Regards Kevin

You can do it by bus, but it's a major project and required 2 transfers and standing on a bus packed like a sardine can with luggage was miserable. The only other time I did it was when I discovered I was at the wrong airport less than 2 hours before my flight left. A helpful Thai taxi driver got me to the correct airport in 35 minutes driving like a maniac, The meter read 390 baht, but I gave him 600 and a sincere thank you anyway.

wow i've forgotten what stress is living in Thailand!

Take a cab, tell him you want the Toll roads and you pay, meter = tolls about 500b and bypass the BK traffic jams. You could get a cab to BTS I spose, then waste hours. I don't even think the airport link is open yet, but I could be wrong. Try to get in a pink meter taxi if you can, less chance the meter has been rigged. If using Nok From DM, I found it always quicker to grab a cab out side, form the cab rank just cross the little road and little over pass. No massive advantage though.

Depending on what time it is, not too late or too early, take a baht bus it's only 50 baht and takes you right to the airport direct pretty quickly, depending on what time it may or may not be a bit cramped but can't beat the price and one leaves about every 30 or so minutes, earlier if they fill up quickly..
