Rimmer Posted June 21, 2010 Share Posted June 21, 2010 PATTAYA: -- An unidentified suspected Chinese national has drowned in the waters off Pattaya’s Bali Hai Pier on Sunday. He was noticed struggling in the water by a local Jetski operator who subsequently assisted the man back to the pier. The man died before rescue services could attend the scene. Pattaya, the 20th of June 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 1:00pm on Sunday, Lieutenant Colonel Pratheep Thongdee (Pattaya Police Investigator) received notification of a foreign man having drowned in the Pattaya Bay of Bali Hai Pier. The Pattaya Marine Rescue Unit along with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation was immediately despatched to the incident to investigate further. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered the dead body of an unidentified suspected Chinese man [approximately 60-years-old] lying on the pier. The man had been assisted to shore by a local Jetski operator who had noticed him struggling in the water prior to his drowning.
