Major Major
Being a motorbike novice I thought it would be safer buying a 3 wheeled bike. I have read about the MP3 Piaggio which haa s good reviews but can't see it for sale in Thailand. The Piaggio is novel in that it has 2 wheels at the front, not at the back. Anyone got any ideas what to buy and where?

Address: 240 Macpherson Road #02-02, Pines Industrial Building Singapore 348574 Tel: (65) 6547 4266 Fax: (65) 6547 4255 The 400 cc Malaysia appears to have the Peugeot-hymotion3. klfopera
My partner just bought a Vespa GTS 300. Vespa is a Piaggio product. We bought it from:<div>S. P. K. Gatorade
As long as you're prepared for some rather cruel remarks wouldn't a Tuk-Tuk fit the requirement? Easy to ship one down from Bangkok. There are a few on the island so should be Ok for spares.
angiud
I am a happy 10 years owner of a small Honda Gyro Up 50 cc, bought in Samui for a 15.000 baht but easy to find (second hand) in Bangkok.

ignis
Just got back from Nonthaburi car and bike tax Office, sadly did not take my camera, there were 2 Brand new 'Airblade' 3 wheelers, [1 at front 2 at rear] looked like they were getting there number plates. Never seen any in any motorbike shops... Is there some place that is converting them ?? or are they making them here ? There is one in Bang Yai a couple of weeks ago, but this one already had white number plates.
ignis
Anyone please know where you buy a 3 wheel motor scooter in Thailand ? I have seen 5 in the past month, 2 were Airblades, 1x Suzuki no idea model, the other 2 no idea, one could have been another Airblade.. OK lots of those little old 50cc Honda's about, but looking for a 125 new or near new.. Search comes up blank, or for Tuk Tuk, did email about a Automatic Tuk Tuk, appears you can buy no problem a Auto Tuk Tuk but can not register it in Thailand ? The Company says can only Export unless you have a Thai Taxi Licence? which is a No No for a non Thai. Asked a few Thai friends about the 3 wheel Scooters, yes they have seen them but all have no idea where you buy
Major Major
You are right Ignis - plenty of sexy looking 3 wheelers on the net, but none seemingly available in Thailand. Surely someone makes/sells them, they would I am sure sell very well, especially here in Samui.
ignis
Took my camera with me today, but did not see any Someone told me there was a new 3 wheel 125cc Scooter driving about in 'Bang Bua Thong' ?? Also looked around Carrefour Bike park, nothing, was surprised how many people have 70,000 baht, as there were 14 PCX Scooters.

They haven't got 70,000b they have a low deposit and monthly at 0.79% per month. Honda finance is the dogs. Unless you were in Pattaya then yer 70,000b is pocket change. I sat on the MP3 in a US showroom but didn't drive it. It seems like a brilliant concept to me. The front wheels operation is quite sophisticated. You can google MP3 Piaggio for some demo videos and see what you think. But unavailable here afaik.
llp
In phuket town I saw a unique motorbike, only had a glimpse before they pulled away. It had a liner to protect from the rain, quite possible a cage for protection but couldn't tell. I'm not even sure if it was two, three, or four wheels, or if it was a conversion that can be installed on any bike or a unique type of new motorbike. On the back it said something along the lines of "Safey Bike". Anyone have more info on this? Google doesn't help.

llp
The one I saw was black and was perhaps only two feet wider than a motorbike, quite high though. The Spira (137kg, 42 kpl) look interesting and I wonder if we'll see them next year, horrible value at 100k baht though. Honda wave (50K baht, 90kg, 50 kpl) add second seat, add third wheel, remove fairing, substitute with foam. Great profit margin for them. LOL at crash test: PIcs:
