As far as I am aware there is no provision for fastracking settlement applications for medical reasons (visit visas; yes, if the reason for the visit is to see the person who has the medical condition); and pregnancy is not an emergency medical condition anyway. Of course, most airlines will not carry a woman in the latter stages of pregnancy, but the ECO will consider that this is not their problem and no reason to fastrack an application. After all, a spouse visa is valid for 27 months and the holder only has to be in the UK for 24 months to qualify for ILR, so if a woman is too advanced in her pregnancy to fly she when she receives her visa she can always travel after the birth. Stanaris Posted October 11, 2010 Share Posted October 11, 2010 I Hope its not getting any easier at the 10 week point a week tomorrow is when its really possible to get that SMS, incidently my wife had a letter from the embassy confirming payment for the visa arrived today dated 22/9 so not sure what is that about, anybody got this as well and is there a pattern to how long you get the letter to decision maybe it means the file has been picked up? For what it's worth, we recently went through the same cycle as all of you, applied, waited and the visa was granted, then we decided we're not going to go after all! I went back to the UK in September and realised that it just wouldn't work, not for my wife or for me, even though it was intended to be on a part of the year basis, how crazy is all of that I wonder, Oh well! The reason for the delay in me receiving my response was because I live in the Isle of Man and they make the decision on the application. Our application still has to wait in the queue in Bangkok like everyone else before being referred to the Isle Of Man. Panic over!! So its been a good week, lots of positive results and a waiting time down under the 10 week mark again, which is what i need regards my booked flights (should i get the right result of course). In view of the fact it is taking 10 weeks or more for visas to be approved and I'm not working, I could use some advice. My wife had 120,000 baht in her Thai bank account, I don't have any money left in my Thai bank account. After 4 weeks of waiting, are we safe to withdraw cash from her account to use? Or would it be safer for me to transfer cash from my bank account in England over? Not sure if her money needs to stay in the account the whole time?
