webfact
FDA Raids Illegal Pharmaceutical Facility in Ladprao Officials from the food and drug agency, along with officers of the consumer protection police division, raided an illegal pharmaceutical facility in the Ladprao area and confiscated more than 10 million baht worth of manufacturing devices and medicine. BANGKOK: -- Food and Drug Administration or FDA officials with police officers from the Consumer Protection Police Division staged a raid at an illegal pharmaceutical manufacturing facility on Ladprao Soi 48 and seized more than 10 million baht worth of machinery. The facility earlier had its operations suspended by the FDA, after having failed to observe good manufacturing practice. Officials also raided a townhouse on a nearby street and found a large stock of painkiller tablets and injection drugs, medicine for rheumatoid arthritis and malaria, and vitamins stored in boxes and plastic barrels. There were also two types of drugs that have been prohibited by the food and drug agency for harmful side effect such as kidney failure and leukemia. Two employees present at the factory were arrested in the raid. According to police, the medicine was being manufactured to be sold all over Thailand and particularly in provinces bordering Cambodia. The FDA charged the owner of the facility with manufacturing prohibited medicine, failure to comply with goods manufacturing practices, and failure to notify the authorities of the address of the facility. Police are still looking for the owner, who is said to be a highly-ranked navy officer. -- Tan Network 2010-07-

surayu
The navy busting the police, the police busting the navy, seems to be a war between organised armed gangs, as long as they are doing goods for the society, keeps the crackdown going pls
