Shame really, that he hasn't been introduced to the german Mr.Consul Weyer yet, he was a window dresser and became an honorary consul of Bolivia in Luxembourg, he is trading in nobility and academics titles ...then he could be Duke T. or even.....

:whistling:

Anybody got his Twitter or e-mail address to pass on...? :cheesy:

Thaksin's official Ugandan title is King of Scotland.

I think he only worked up to Duke of Glasgow.

But the guy is so slimy he's more squeegee than weegie!

Yes, the black night of da Shoddyland's!

Mr Nandala Mafabi, the PAC chairman, told reporters that a whistle blower, whom he refused to name because of the sensitivity of the matter

Never mind sensitivity, it's very good for the whistle blower to remain nameless for the sake of his own life.

The last time someone was getting ready to testify as a witness against Thaksin, they ended dead; the unresolved shooting death of Kornthep Wiriya. He was ambushed and shot in the head by unidentified assailants while riding his motorcycle before he could testify in court.

Good to see someone remembers that poor man. Indeed Thaksins bully boys were working well then just as his Red Shirt thugs did just recently. Edited by siampolee

and those were about the only days they ever worked in their lives!

I always wondered why we didn't hear more of a follow up on the obvious hired killing. Guess he paid a lot of hush money and bribes to silence it.

Thaksin claims he has 10 gold mines and a lottery ticket business in Uganda.

He probably had to pay cash.

Now his passport is declared illegally issued.

My conjecture:

Next he'll find out he's a criminal because foreigners are not allowed to own (gold mines, real estate, etc).

He'll be forbidden to do business in the country, and if he tries to return he gets a basement cell in the Kampala Hilton.

Somebody's making a big score, the kind the Nigerian scammers dream about.

For somebody who so astutely follows the advice of fortune tellers this guy has had some terrible luck these past years.

I can only wonder how much a passport of Uganda cost and how many people try to obtain one

10 Gold Mines, probably worked out years ago.

Not many obtain one, only Fugitive crooks spending their Countries money can afford them.

At 2000 percent inflation rate ,Thaskin will be broke by Xmas.

Not so sure, his assets are worth 27,997,527,812,113 (that's 27 Trillion with a T)Ugandan shillings. He should still have some left over when the Thai elections in late 2011 occur.

Uganda questions how Thaksin gets passport

Uganda's Parliament has continued to question the circumstances under which diplomatic passports are issued in the country following reports that many foreigners including former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra are issued the passports.

Ugpulse online has reported that apart from Thaksin, former rebel leader in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Wamba Dia Wamba also holds Uganda's diplomatic passports.

Moreover the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee is also questioning how Uganda's business tycoons, Michael Ezra, Moses Kalungi, Hassan Basajjabalaba, and Kananathan Veluppillai acquired the country's diplomatic passports.

Hassan Basajjabalaba, Kananathan, and Michael Ezera are widely known to be supporters of the ruling National Resistance Movement.

The online quoted the MPs on the committee as saying that some office cleaners from the region where most leaders of the country come from also hold diplomatic passports.

The MPs seating on the committee are so concerned that the criteria followed in issuing diplomatic passports has been abused by some officials and supporters of the ruling government.

The lawmakers alleged that abuse of power in the Ministry of Internal Affairs may allow wrongdoers pretending to be supporters of the ruling government to acquire the Ugandan diplomatic passport and ended up committing crimes on the international scene.

The MPs want police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the issuance of diplomatic passports in the country.

:cheesy: they do keep him hopping...

If i try to access Thaksins Twitter page i get this message

An access to such information has been temporarily ceased

due to the order of the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES)

What sense makes such a censoring when the newspapers reports anyway what Thaksin is twittering. And isn't that a violation of the computer crime act? That post should get deleted and TVF members should report the offense by The Nation here:

The passport issue scenario shows just how untouchable Thaksin is to the majority of the worlds states/nations/kingdoms/republics etc.. Add Thaksins megalomania and indeed we can see a perfect match twixt all those leaders and ex leaders. The common bond is... ''Corruption and the fact that they are all power and control freaks'.

As has already been stated '' it would seem as if the national leaders who befriend first, Thaksins money, then Thaksin himself can be best described as political and social rejects who have no knowledge of honesty nor a shred of self respect amongst their combined ilk.

Excrement floats, if all those morally and financially corrupt persons who pander to Thaksins money and his capricious whims ,along with Thaksin, all went to sea in a pea green boat and the boat sank, they would all float.

Thaksin did not invent corruption, was not the most corrupt, and most definitely is not the last.

If Thailand exiled or jailed all the corrupt politicians and military I would have no trouble find a parking spot on Sukhumvit or a summer home in Khao Yai.

I am convinced that his sin was not playing ball with the rich and powerful so they unleashed the yellow shirts. .............RELEASE THE KRACKEN..........

Be careful with Thaksin twitter messages. His Thwitter channel is blocked. It is banned, illegal content. Distributing illegal content, with the full knowledge that it is illegal content, is a crime in the computer crime act. 5 years jail or so. An afterwards, bye bye farang, deportation.

Correct he did not invent corruption, but by most accounts, he was the most corrupt Thai PM ever. His corruption is measured in billions of baht when his predecessors involved millions.

Additionally, the Auditor-General Jaruwan described the level of corruption under Thaksin as "unprecedented."

The shortcoming being that he has always portrayed himself as untameable and he has never agreed to play by the rules.

His past actions and words (which are the best predictors of future actions and words) run contrary to that "conceived" notion.

not that further evidence of his solidly held # 1 position is needed, but today's news includes:

NACC Finds Thaksin Guilty of Corruption in TPI Rehabilitation Plan

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has found former PM Thaksin Shinawatra and his associates guilty of corruption in carrying out the rehabilitation plan of TPI, the country's largest private firm debtor in Thailand.

The case will now be sent to the Supreme Court for political postholders for a final verdict.

Some days it pays to get out of bed.

In case this is NOT missed... TPI Poline is the very SAME company

that ALLEGEDLY sent very small amounts of cash to many, many, many bank accounts of Dems directly.

10,000 baht here, 10,000 baht there, and someone went to a LOT of trouble to do this for a long time.

When 10k in an envelope would be so much faster and invisible...

but no this was grandly done THROUGH the banking system, leaving an obvious paper trail.

None of it reported going to top dogs, only little amounts to little fish spread around all over.

Hence the need for 2 trucks to transport the records....

And then, SUDDENLY, out of the blue Chalerm has this ONE smoking gun FAX,

saying that ONE Dem MIGHT have known...

Or the fax was just sent from a office 'by persons unknown'.

So let's see a hugely indebted company that Thaksin is corruptly in bed with,

tries to do an end run on the Dems with enough money quietly thrown at them bit by bit,

that LATER it can be collated into a huge sum and the ONLY serious threat to TRT on the scene,

gets nullified....

And now;

low and behold Thaksin's connection to this self same company has got him embroiled yet again.

In 2005 there was no doubt Thaksin was the man to be re-elected...

so why was a company he is helping bail out, suddenly financing his enemy party...???

Not likely it was a hedge bet vs TRT in 2005.... more likely Thaksin saying; lets sting the Dems,

and get them permanently out of the picture, and contracts will roll your way.

He always played for keeps with no moral compunctions.

This TPI thing never added up, utterly unknown, till suddenly

'Chalerm the great detective' has a whole file to wave about.

And 2 truck loads of files show the massive scale of this attempt to bring down the opposition Dems.

It's pretty obvious Team Thaksin will go to ANY lengths to bring them down... think back a few months,

and this TPI case seemed like a set up from day one... if it quacks like a duck.

Thaksin to Face New Malfeasance Case

The graft-fighting panel resolved to seek another indictment against ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra for allowing the Finance Ministry to abuse its power to meddle in the rehabilitation plan for a debt-ridden energy firm.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission, or NACC, has discovered fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra failed to oppose or express his objection to then Finance Minister Suchart Chaowisit's approval for the Finance Ministry to supervise the rehabilitation plan of TPI, a petroleum company and the country's major private debtor.

The company was declared bankrupt by the Central Bankruptcy Court after the 1997 financial crisis. The court endorsed the company's creditors to conduct a plan to rehabilitate its business.

The NACC suggested the Finance Ministry's nomination of ex-Defense Minister General Mongkol Ampornpisit and ex-Finance Minister Thanong Bidaya to sit on the rehabilitation panel of the company was not within the scope of its power and its move caused damage to public administration.

The panel, therefore, resolved to seek malfeasance indictment against Thaksin for the alleged violation of the Criminal Code's Article 157.

The anti-graft body, however, did not seek prosecution against Suchart as he had passed away and it also found no involvement of then Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic affairs Somkid Jatusripitak.

NCCC finds fugitive Thaksin guilty in TPI rehabilitation scheme

BANGKOK, July 17 - Thailand’s Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has ruled that fugitive, ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra violated the rehabilitation plan for the then financially-strapped Thai Petrochemical Industry (TPI) which became bankrupt after the 1997 Asian financial crisis and entered a court financial help.

NACC spokesman Klanarong Chantik told a press conference that the agency board met Thursday and ruled that Mr Thaksin, ousted from power in a bloodless coup in September 2006, had violated Section 157 of the Criminal Code in his dealing with the TPI case.

The NACC will present its recommendation to the Office of the Attorney General to advise the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions to forbid Mr Thaksin, now in self-imposed exile, from engaging in political affairs in future.

Mr Thaksin was earlier sentenced in absentia to two years in prison for his abuse of power in his then wife's purchase of land in a prime Bangkok commercial area at a discounted price.

Mr Klanarong said the NACC board found that the former prime minister in 2003 endorsed the Finance Ministry’s bid to apply to be an administrator for TPI’s rehabilitation plan and in doing so he was guilty of malfeasance and violation of Section 157 of the Criminal Code.

In doing so, the Finance Ministry had abused its power and also damaged the civil service system.

The NACC dropped its case against then finance minister Suchart Jaovisit for malfeasance for allowing the ministry to administer the TPI rehabilitation plan as he had already died.

Another who was dropped from the NACC’s charges was then deputy prime minister Somkid Jatusripitak as the agency found no solid evidence against him, Mr Klanarong said.

TPI was later renamed Integrated Refinery Petrochemical Complex Public Co., Ltd. (IRPC) and is listed under the energy and utilities sector of the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Well the facts are there now. Thaksin has 3 choices.

1 Stay abroad and avoid prosecution.

2 Come back and serve his time like a man.

3 Die to avoid prosecution like Kuhn Suchart did.

He's super rich and he has choices. Why should he complain...

Oh yes, a tortured ego can't be purchased, it comes stock and often broken

with no available user-replaceable replacement parts...

So he Weng's on and on. I wonder what his boiler plate Tweet on this will be?

Uganda provided fake passport for ousted Thai PM : reports

The former prime minister of Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra, received a fraudulent passport from the Ugandan government, a Uganda's parliamentary watchdog claimed last week.

Nandala Mafabi, the chairman of the public accounts committee, told the Daily Monitor that an unnamed whistle blower had told the committee: "The government issued a diplomatic passport to Mr Shinawatra as a way of enticing him to invest here."

Thaksin, who was deposed in a military coup in 2006, has a number of business investments in Uganda including lottery licenses and several goldmines.

The Parliament of Uganda has continued to question the circumstances under which diplomatic passports are issued in the country.

This follows reports that Thaksin and former rebel leader in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Wamba Dia Wamba holds Uganda's diplomatic passports.

If Ugandan passports have red covers, would that mean TS is a fake red?

Does he have a Honduran passport? I tried looking it up and this this is the last word I could find.

And then there's Fiji, that gov't is getting a lot of cred these days as well.

Maybe he should try Paraguay.

I suggest you do some research into how the yellow shirst came into existence. You'll quickly discover that the yellow shirts weren't 'started' by, as you call it, 'the rich and powerful', in fact there is a case to say that a good proportion of the 'rich and powerful' did not want any attempt to highlight and/or stop corruption.

Every person who gets involved in corruption knows very well that there are risks involved, and knows very well that someday / somehow / somwehere the axe might just fall, and it might just fall on you. Also, part of the risk is that someone else who's involved, in the coruption, might squeal to try to save themselves in some way. Thems the risks of corruption.

The other side of the coin is that if corruption was ignored, i.e. you cannot charge thaksin with corruption because others have been corrupt and never been charged, then you might as well open the Bank of Thailand coffers for all to come as you please and take away, without question, anything they want.

It's also reality that there is a slowly growing force in Thailand against corruption, more and more people are (slowly) realizing that:

- Their hard earned tax dollars are being stolen by corrupt immoral thieves (politicians and beaurocrats).

- All of these funds should be used to develop Thailand, reduce the gap, provide better infrastructure and better opportunity for all Thais.

I'll share one small (repeat small) example. A few months ago I was part of panel to interview prospective freshies at my university. Amongst other tests / criteria each prospective students (all about 17 / 18 years old) had to converse in English for about 40 minutes. Some subjects were given in the panel guidelines which included "What would you like to see change in Thailand in the near future". About 70 perhaps 80% of the young candidates responded instantly "stop corruption".
