So does UBC go off at midnight as well? If it does wouldent UBC would be breaking there contract with subscribers and should there not be a refund!!!!!!!

Anyone know if UBC is off at midnight or still on?

Need to read the fine lines, not sure about the refund. But good arguement, UBC would be breaking their contract with subscribers.

Wishful thinking I would say. Remember when all the Thai channels dropped solid for a month or two from DSTV? No discounts were handed back to subscribers. We also don't get discounts everytime it rains and cuts off the service which is just about every day lately.

A TV receiver, depending on the size, would range from somewhere around 45 watts up to a hundred or maybe 150 watts (some of the big projection units may be more than this).

You can buy a Ku-band or C-band satellite dish and a satellite receiver, then away you go - it may be an idea to get the dish with a rotator controlled by the receiver as well.

There are loads of free to air channels on satellites that can be "seen" from Thailand. UBC and other bouquet providor's signals are encrypted, so you cannot access them without the appropriate account, but there are a fair number of feeds available if you have the cash to buy the dish, receiver, and rotator (it aims the dish depending on which satellite signal you select on the receiver - depends also on the type of receiver you buy).

Have a look at www.lyngsat.com or www.satcodx.com for listings.
