thaifkrlim
People have their own perception when it comes to to the word ‘Prostitution’... men look at it as a service industry, a place where they can hump women for a certain amount of money without any string attach... there even a phrase " If you want to drink milk, dont have to buy the whole cow "...for some countries (mostly in Europe), prostitution is a legal industry..... Maybe u guys have something to share about this ‘pay for sex’ thing, is it wrong to pay for sex..? Even marriage is a ‘Pay for sex’ event...the thing is,...we pay once for a lifetime of sex

rodentwarrior
It's the Worlds oldest profession apparently. I guess it's only 'wrong' if there is a victim. I don't have any problem with the 'don't have to buy the whole cow' theory. Getting married is probably the second oldest profession, and I've heard enough stories about that to make certain that I never indulge in such a financial arrangement. If you wine and dine someone, for a bonk, doesn't that amount to the same thing essentially?
Jingthing
If you are religious, yes. It is often illegal, so breaking the law is wrong. Other than that, if the service worker is an adult, not a slave, and not abused by the client, and paid a reasonable compensation, and disease protection is utilized, of course it is NOT wrong. In my view, not much different than paying for a cooked meal, a free will decision. Not the only way to get sex or food, but always an option ... So if you live in Saudi Arabia and you are gay, breaking the Law is wrong? Hahahahaha What tosh! You misread my point. Breaking the law is objectively wrong. Breaking the law is NOT the same thing as doing the illegal acts. Some laws are stupid. I thought my meaning was clearly implied, but there you have it. Oh, on the religion thing, I was mainly talking about monotheistic religions. I am not clear on Buddhist/Hindu etc. on this matter. Beetlejuice
Women are not sexual beings in the same way as men. To men sex is a way of bonding with a woman. This is why a man can fall in love very quickly (prostitutes included) after only one sex session because the bonding has taken place. Women have a totally different perception of sexual intercourse. They use sex as a way of gaining something they want. The attachment to a man, children, status or an income as in prostitution. Very few, if any women experience orgasm. Not like as in porn movies that is all faked. I have known women who went without sex for years and it did not bother them. This is one reason women are known to go off sex once they are married, established and had children. Because they have gained what they want. If the woman decides to find another guy, she begins the whole process again. Sex to archive.. For men, having intercourse with someone they don't fancy may seem repulsive; this is because men consider sex and love as a team. But for women sex and love is often 2 completely different functions. Paying for it is all part of the scheme of things. It has been this way since the beginning of human creation. That is why prostitution is the oldest profession. The man gets his few moments of heaven by lovemaking and the woman presents her body as a product earning her a living or to please her man because she loves him or to keep her status. IanForbes
Nothing is ever black or white. There are so many different aspects to the profession that there can't be one definitive answer. The leaders in every society try to manipulate people for their own personal gain. That includes all the religions. What easier way of manipulating people than creating false laws against a natural process that people enjoy? Sex is normal. All animals are programed to do it to produce offspring. That is why it is pleasurable. If it wasn't pleasant the whole animal kingdom would die off. By restricting access to pleasure, the leaders of religion and countries can manipulate people in many ways, and get them to do what the leaders want. It all comes down to control and power. The people who have the commodity sell it for the highest price they can get. That goes for goods and services... or for sex. Restrict the access and you can increase the price. It works for just about every commodity. And, have no doubt, sex IS a commodity. The only reason that many drugs are illegal is the government hasn't any way of regulating them and collecting a tax. Religion, big business and politics go hand in hand, and they all work together to manipulate people for their own gain. That is why we have the phoney marriage system. It's all tied in with religion. And, have no doubt, all religions are trying ot control people for their own gain.

micls
Women are not sexual beings in the same way as men. Can I ask if you are a man or a woman? Imo the above statement is complete rubbish. Women are just as sexual as men, they're simply 'not supposed to be' as decided by society. Wow, you talk a lot of rubbish. Hahahahahahaha. Ok, either you are a man who is rubbish in bed and is trying to justify it, or a very very unlucky woman. For men, having intercourse with someone they don't fancy may seem repulsive; this is because men consider sex and love as a team. But for women sex and love is often 2 completely different functions. This has to be one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time. Fair play! On the topic itself, no, it's not wrong, and it shouldn't be illegal. Along as both parties consent and are of legal age.

I think that you have it back wards. Most men will stick it in anything that is remotely female and many are not even particular about that. Women are the ones who want to "bond'. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with paying for sex and in some ways it is preferable to all the things that you have to do to supposedly get it for "free". I think that is a pretty realistic comment, and as long as both parties are consenting, without it being enforced; i.e that the sex worker is bonded, etc, etc... go ahead and enjoy. Sorry, but that is just plain wrong. Many things are illegal for a good reason. Sleeping with children, doing serious drugs, driving while drunk. Just because you don't think it is wrong means nothing...just that you are...perhaps...ignoring laws put into place for very good reasons. And if you get caught, you should pay the penalty. As for prostitution, I do believe it is illegal here. But not enforced as the police make tooooooo much money from it!

Berkshire
For men, having intercourse with someone they don't fancy may seem repulsive; this is because men consider sex and love as a team. But for women sex and love is often 2 completely different functions. Boy, you have it completely off. Men can separate sex and love much more easily than women. Men can readily have sex with someone they find attractive, yet don't particularly like. With women, there's much more emotion involved. It's been proven scientifically that men can be easily aroused watching straight porn, whereas women require the "romance" aspect to become aroused (generally speaking). Which is what makes prostitution so possibly damaging to women in the long run. Once they start selling this most personal part of themselves, then their whole concept of love, affection, romance, relationships, and all that turns upside down. This is why it's difficult (particularly for foreigners) to have a normal relationship with a bargirl. That plus the fact that most of these girls have had their hearts broken so many times that they've become jaded. By the way, I'm certainly not trying to be judgmental on the question of prostitution. It's a two-consenting-adults sort of thing. Just had to respond to this one post.
