Thailand's New 300-Baht Tourism Tax: Aid or Hindrance?
Incorrect The tax will apply to the vast majority of foreign visitors to Thailand, though there are some important exceptions. Infants under two, transit passengers, diplomats, and individuals holding authorized Thai work permits will be exempt from paying the fee. However, long-term residents, retirees, and other non-immigrant visa holders will be required to pay the tax, including those who may not typically view themselves as tourists. This includes individuals holding the Destination Thailand Visa, the Privilege or Elite card, and other long-term visas. The position of 10-year Long-Term Residence visa holders and permanent residents is still under review, with officials yet to clarify whether these groups will be subject to the tax. -

But since you've posted the headline here, it's worth reporting what the article actually says on the issue -- that the risks from sickness from COVID far outweigh the risks from the vaccines: "the CDC committee evaluating concerns about the heart problems post-vaccination agreed that the risk of severe COVID-19 illness and hospitalization among unvaccinated adolescents and young adults was higher in every age group than the risk of myocarditis or pericarditis after a vaccine. ... That's a sentiment echoed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which issued a joint statement after the hearing that was co-signed by more than a dozen other organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Caught in a trap - Judge Ali
It's more along the lines of putting a temporary hold on paying them while they audit the veracity of the charges. Which is what any properly run business would do if they discovered some of their employees were paying bogus invoices. It's nice to have some adult oversight for a change.
