Yesterday a construction site collapsed on chaweng beach road. opposite Chaweng Regent.

some tourists were injured and 1 car demolished.

Any idea who is the site owner/contractor?

BTW I saw nothing at all opp. the Chaweng Regent today. Business as usual. If there was an accident they have cleaned that up rapidly.

not really a thai hating posting. If something is wrong then it has to be fixed. the best way to clean up an accident is to prevent it.

they do have laws in thailand you know. the site manager can be arrested for this.remeber a sertain night club in bangkok where there wasa a big fire on new years eve.

people complaining because a build collapes on you is not thai hating. that is like saying i hate all my fellow englishman because i complained that my cable tv went down and had to take 2 days off work to wait for a technishan

Of course any accident is tragically and unfortunate and things could be done better. But most poster bashing all Thai standards don't realise that all the good things they can enjoy here are directly connected with these standards.

Maybe it isn't so much T.I.T. and it is T.I.S.? I was surprised once in Phuket when I saw a construction site where the workers were wearing uniforms and hard hats. I never saw that in my 2+ years living on Samui.

saw 3 or 4 days ago a minor motorcycle accident in that hollow before The Karma. Saw a bit later on my way to Chaweng a yellow rescue van speeding that way extraordinary quick. But that was nothing compared to another white rescue car a minute later at the Northern end of the Chaweng Beach road and that heading toward me with appr 80-100 km/h. Had to stop as far left of the road as possible. Only a slightest driving mistake by that maniac on that old street and I would not write this post now for sure.
