scorpio1945 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Impressive. Both the animal and the photograph.:jap: Gee Scorpio, after that introductory word "Impressive" I felt sure there would be at least one more word included in the following sentence. Something with an -er on the end of it maybe. Well, since that is not your first "impressive photo" we will have to acknowledge the "er" OR you are occasionaly lucky.
villagefarang Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 The strange thing is, the creature is still there. Neither rain nor wind could get it to move from that perch. Today my wife went out and got some shots in the morning light with her iPhone and posted them on Facebook.

I will consider myself acknowledged as being lucky then.
svenivan Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Nice colours VF. We get an occasional one, they like the Torch Ginger leaves. They do not eat much because "Neither sex possess fully formed mouthparts and therefore do not feed; throughout their 1–2-week adult life they survive entirely on larval fat reserves that they build up while they are caterpillars.[6] " From Wikipedia. I had one a week ago hanging outside my window on an electrical wire, stayed there for at least 4 days.

So do not kill these big larvaes! 1
sceadugenga Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 I think the larvae are nice as well. They make short work of Torch Ginger leaves though.

sceadugenga Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 Here it is.... my own personal photo thread Funny I never noticed the cries of self righteous indignation when I started this, but then I've always been hard of hearing. 2
villagefarang Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Would you be terribly offended if I were to tag along with a guest post from time to time? Here is lifestyle shot in our local market. Great thread by the way.
sceadugenga Posted October 30, 2012 Author Posted October 30, 2012 They could hardly control this truck because of the weight.
