and now he has announced retirement from international football

a shame when you see such talent end their career on not the highest note. France's tournament in this 2010 World Cup was truly disappointing. Sorry Henry :(

I will ofcourse always remember him for the Arsenal legend that he is

Henry spent the next eight seasons of his career at Arsenal, where he won two Premier League titles and three FA cups while becoming the highest scoring player for Arsenal.

Henry also won a series of personal awards during his career, including winning the Football Writers Player of the Year on three separate occasions. Henry left Arsenal in 2007 to join Spanish giants Barcelona, he won the Spanish, European and World Club titles with them and became part of the first team in the history of football to lift six trophies in a year.

from Blogs bettor.com

and from wiki:

It was at Arsenal that Henry made his name as a world-class footballer. Despite initially struggling in the Premier League, he emerged as Arsenal's top goal-scorer for almost every season of his tenure there. Under long-time mentor and coach Arsène Wenger, Henry became a prolific striker and Arsenal's all-time leading scorer with 226 goals in all competitions. The Frenchman won two league titles and three FA Cups with the Gunners; he was nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year twice, was named the PFA Players' Player of the Year twice, and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year three times. Henry spent his final two seasons with Arsenal as club captain, leading them to the UEFA Champions League final in 2006. In June 2007, after eight years with Arsenal, he transferred to Barcelona for a fee of €24 million. His first honours with the Catalan club came in 2009 when they won the league, cup and Champions League treble. He went on to achieve an unprecedented sextuple by also winning the Spanish Supercup, the UEFA Supercup and the Club World Cup. In total, Henry has been named in the UEFA Team of the Year five times.

Ah yes thats jsut about the only position us Scots aint worried about these days....:D

all that nonsense about him being a nice guy, his true colours came out when he cheated Ireland, so his legend status went out the window in 1 foul swoop, but then he did have the that winging cheat wenger as his mentor hardly surprising

Rafael Marquez is following his former Barcelona team-mate and has joined the NY Red Bulls.

In my opinion he could have perfectly keep playing in Europe for few more years but it seems that living in NYC whilst earning a fortune ( as jbrewer said ) must be a difficult offer to reject!!!

Cheers
