Was anyone over in Patong last night? I was just wondering if it was actually all closed down, as the police said it would be...Reports from other parts of the islsnd also welcome.

Driving through Kata I noticed all the girly bars were closed, but a few girls were sitting around the darkened bars.

I don't know about Bangla, but most likely. It was a Buddhist public holiday, so they should and would most likely be closed or the police would be out fining and closing them. Everything is open again today/tonight.

I can tell that a well known bar/restaurant on Rawai beach South end was selling beer, my friends wife’s father is a high BIB in Chalong and he told my friend that this farang bar was selling beer on a Buddha day, they did not do anything but he is in the book and the Police was not happy at all, he told that they will get him big time,,, time for tea money????

Bangla was closed for all of Monday and up until midnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning when some bars opened.
