Iphone Sms Problem

Featured Replies

Suddenly overnight the sms on my iPhone won't open.

It shows that there are 2 new messages but when I touch the icon the screen goes blank and then returns to the icon screen.

I tried using 'Text Message' in the contacts info as a way around and it will send a message but when I touch the 'Messages' tab on the screen it only goes back to the icon screen again.

I can also receive messages, but can't open them to view them from the sms icon.

Any ideas? It was working fine yesterday and I haven't changed any settings.

have you tried to restart the iphone? or upgrade to a new version?

sometimes restoring the phone via itunes helps

Yes I've switched it on and off several times and no luck.

I don't see an upgrade being the solution as the current version has been working fine the last 2 years.

And I don't use iTunes, they keep asking for my credit card number.

The battery is almost dead so I'm hoping that will maybe help reset the sms.

Otherwise would using one of the reset options on the phone help?

Letting the battery die and recharging didn't solve the problem.

Neither did resetting the network settings.

Anyone got any ideas?

Well the sms function just stopped working for no particular reason.

And after a few days it just decided to start working again for no particular reason.

So all's well again.

I read your post and fixed it remotely for you, sorry it took so long :D Expect a bill in the mail
