I am sure all of you are aware of the energy problems being discussed in other parts of this site. I was just wondering if as teachers of probably millions of Thai children, between us we might be able to give them some insight into why saving energy is a good idea, and what they and their families can do to help in a constructive way that will help the country and there own families to save both money and energy. Can we not pull together here and come up with a set of lesson plans that we can all use as one to flood the education system with good sound ideas? I am new at the job, but there has to be enough of us here to get some really good lessons together that can work for all levels and abilities. What do you all think?

When I can I try to relate energy costs to energy usage in science problems for my science classes. However, I'm not on the same page with the government here- I think using energy *wisely* is important, but there's no point to shutting down the country if that means the economy goes, too. Perhaps the stress should be on ways not to WASTE energy (turning things off when not needed, moderating use of aircon, using public transport instead of private cars, etc., etc.).

I think it is good to educate people about using energy wisely but I dont' think that we need to get together to create some lessons....just do it...
