Dvd Player In Car

Featured Replies

Hi,

Bought HONDA City last year equipped with a normal MP3 player that plays songs directly from USB.

I plan to take it out and put a DVD player (touch screen LCD) that can play videos, songs etc....DIRECTLY FROM USB.

That's the key thing I am looking for......hate carrying & managing DVD/CD. :bah:

Now getting it done from my Honda dealer sucks...it'd cost 25K THB. I heard SONY, Panasonic, Pioneer etc.

would be more cost effective.

Need opinion on this accessory including where to get this work done and how much would it cost? :whistling:

regards

There's quite literally dozens of models that fit your basic specs, so it's not an easy question to answer.

My suggestion would be to have a look around the various manufacturer websites so you can narrow down a list, then go shopping around autosound stores for the best service & price..

Google should be able to locate the manufacturer websites for Thailand.. Have a look at offerings from Alpine, Clarion, Pioneer, Kenwood, and Sony for a start. If they're not hitting the mark on price, there's always the "Thai" brands, e.g. Zulex, Worldtech, AJ etc.

Hard to believe that any of the large and supposedly responsible companies such as Sony or Pioneer would make a device as dangerous as a television (DVD player) that fits in a car dashboard. In any country with a decent legal system you could hold them jointly liable with the driver when he hit you because he was too busy watching TV to drive. Most of the ones I've seen from the big companies are designed for the back seats and mount on the ceiling or the back of the front seat headrests.

Your reply makes a good sense.....so it seems that reputed brands may not put hands on my requirements.

Is it that easy to put for backseats i.e. at the back of front seats for members at back seats to view?

More specifically, can you tell me the place from where to get this job done?

I have just had a Kenwood Monitor/DVD receiver put in my Nissan Navara plus some better speakers. Cost me 19,800 Baht and I must admit so far its the dogs b*ll*cks!..

Touch screen or remote control and has the USB port for I-pod or memory stick.

The Thai guy fitting asked me about viewing DVD's while on the move, which he did, must admit with the wife watching her Isan karaoke stuff it is a bit distracting.

Most Thai towns will have a shop or two doing this ICE stuff, I spotted one in Chai Badan- Lop Buri province and just went in and asked what they had to offer.
