In times of turbulence it's necessary to seek refuge in classics- half the roof of our house blew off 2 days ago! A violent storm in north Issan, usually in April or May, not February.

North Sea Radio Orchestra - Heavy Weather

Kourosh Yaghmaei - Gole Yakh (Iran, 1974)

Sweet song from 70's Persian rock musician Kourosh Yaghmei's first album. Great times before Iran was infested and hijacked by medieval islam idiots.

If you have a decent SW radio listen for Radio Farda (Freedom). Google them for their

frequencies. Lots of banter and great Persian R & R which I really like as I did a stint

in Iran with the USG pre Kohmeini days down in Bandar Abbas & up in Esfahan. Good

music venues back then & great bands. Kiosk is one of my all time persian bands....their

music is available on te web...have a Google.

Here's a link to their frequencies...

Wouldn't it be more simple to Google them and just start listening thro the web browser? My SW radio hasn't seen a new set of batteries put in it for at least 10 years.smile.png

Not so easy actually unless you can read Persian script (Farsi?) plus...

Google translate doesn't always do it right either. If you get them on

the web ok, pass me the URL!

I hope you & yours are OK. Roof's can always be replaced fairly easily;

not so with humans.

Thanks for the concern DB and Sunshine 51, 500 pounds worth of damage but fortunately the wife and grandson were next door at her sister's, -beams, tiles and corrugated iron flying through the air can be lethal weapons.

Mother Nature- usually she's kind in Thailand but occasionally she'll rear up .

Is this the radio channel you talk about?

http://www.liveonlineradio.net/iran/radio-farda.htm

Yes...That's Radio Farda. Their music programmes seem to run

at 1500 until 2000 each day now whereas before they were

mostly music all day long. Before was circa 2005 until mid last

year. This is all dependent if the web broadcast is live or recorded

though. Thanks for this...

Rush edit...it's now 1346 & the news just finished & music is on!

I saw these two great musicians do a duet at WOMAD

some years ago...blew me away!!!

Not so long ago, Embassy, John Players, all the cigarette brands offered coupons with every packet. Get 700 or so and you'd get a kitchen appliance ,blender, hoover, whatever.

My friend works for The National Health

Revolver is such a great album

Dedicated (with his permission) to an all round good guy and regular poster of the parish, even though he is a boring old hippy kant and probably would like this ,

more than he would this,

He was last seen heading to pratet loas trying to retrieve his roof.

L'equippe Cowboy won't be hiring team chef from France again, I can tell you...

Anyway, it put me in a Gallic frame of mind - a mind seriously damaged by growing up with stuff like this or this

I never knew my revered mentor, Sir Bob Harris, said the above words, perhaps it was in reference to the quality of the air a few hours after he'd eaten a particular hot curry.

Anyway, here's south London's own Jimi Hendrix
