Can anybody inform me about songhthaew fares for for the below mentioned rides in period August - October 2005?

I consider to go these lines:

1. Na Thon ferry pier - Maenam(or Bo Phut)

2. Bo Phut - Lamai(through or with stop in Chaweng)

nothing for sure on prices but i think nathon to maenam would be about 80 baht and bophut lamai 100 baht but might be way off......

i always had a moterbike or stayed at a guest house first and got them to pick me up......

Before sundown:

Na Thon ferry pier - Maenam(or Bo Phut) 50 baht

Bo Phut - Lamai(through or with stop in Chaweng) 30 to 50 baht

Don't pay more and don't ask the price. State your destination, jump in, jump out, pay the money and walk away.

After sundown; approx. same prices, but you will need to negotiate them. If you're the only one in the Songthaew they will expect more.

maybe more expensive .

but , keep off the motor bikes / scooters

as the roads have a lot of sand on them ,

that s apart from the death wish drivers ,

who use them.
