bubba1 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I need to buy some Acid Reflux medicine. Where is a reliable pharmacy short of going to a hospital? I don't want grey market, etc from India and I don't trust the local antibiotic dispensing pharmacies on every corner
BWPattaya Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Most pharmacies will stock the required medicine, and it is worth trying your local one in the firat instance. You mention acid reflux, so do you mean reflux oesophagitis? If it is occurring when you lie down to sleep try raising your head and upper body using an extra pillow. The acid in your stomach won't flow uphill so easily.
PattayaParent Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Facino on North Road. And I've seen them in another location but can't remember where now.
syd barrett Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 For Acid Reflux, purchase a PPI from any pharmacist. LOSEC or OMEPRAZOLE. Beware of the cheaper Indian fakes. (Cheap green cardboard packet) I insist on OMEPRAZOLE by 'March Pharmaceuticals co Ltd' in a blue box, most pharmacies stock this. 100 Baht for 14 tablets.
jori Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Facino on North Road. And I've seen them in another location but can't remember where now. Opposite the small Tesco store on darkside, there are two more also smaller stores,I forget too
Spaniel Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 If you're in the Jomtien area try this pharmacy. It's small and I dont know the name but can describe how to find it. If coming from Pattaya take the road over the hill to Jomtien beach at which point most traffic will make a left turn. Before you turn left, on the opp corner, there will be a 7/11. The pharmacy is a couple shops down from the 7/11. I think their is one of those gay guy places next to it so if you see a bunch of guys in white shorts and tee shirts, then you have found it.
Phil Conners Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Facino on North Road. And I've seen them in another location but can't remember where now. Opposite the small Tesco store on darkside, there are two more also smaller stores,I forget too And one opposite the temple on South Pattaya road.
Rimmer Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I was prescribed NOCID for this condition, a three week course two times a day fixed the problem. Believe the freely available RANIDINE will also work and not so expensive. "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!" Arnold Judas Rimmer of Jupiter Mining Corporation Ship Red Dwarf
Chang_paarp Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 At the Facino opposite Tesco you can speak to pharmacists who speaks good English, they also have good prices especially if you are a member. (The katoey pharmacy assistant is also very competent who will defer to the pharmacist. ) They are used to falang questioning, but be polite in your dealings with them for best results.
Jingthing Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Fascino is definitely tops, good prices and quality assured, North road.
barryofthailand Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I've found that the best tablets for acid reflux is Ranadine, and can be purchased at the pharmacy in Tesco or any other pharmacy for that matter for 25 Baht a strip. Barry
craigt3365 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Ranadine is my choice. It takes a while to take effect, but lasts a long time. If you need instant relief, go with something like Tums or Rolaids. These won't last the entire day or night, but act immediately. If I am in bad shape (after that Mexican dinner with nachos and cheese) I do both before bed!
bubba1 Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 thanks guys, will try Facino. Looking for Pantoprazole by the way.
bubba1 Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Fascino is definitely tops, good prices and quality assured, North road. anyone have a phone number and more details on the exact location? thanks.
Phil Conners Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Opposite Tesco Lotus on North Pattaya Road.

eyebee Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 The other Fascino is on Pattaya Tai just past the school and on the same side of the road. Another good pharmacy that seems to stock everything (but if they haven't got it, they will send out for some immediately) is the one right next door to Tim's on 2nd road. Good prices, and the pharmacist speaks very good English and seems to know her stuff.
