National Stadium Skytrain Station Area Hotel

Featured Replies

All down Soi kasem san 1 are small hotels and guesthouses, all around 1000 baht a night, walking distance from the skytrain station.

I'm trying to figure out why you would want to be in that area.I like silom, and riverside areas myself. But then thats my opinion.Skytrain and river taxi are both easy

I often stay in that area. Its very convenient for shopping and to the skytrain. And there are no touts,no tuk tuks and no vendors pushing their wares on you on the sidewalks. It is not super touristy yet often full, so check out the various places and call ahead of time.

There are quite a few, from White Lodge to A One Inn, to Reno. Travelfish has a good listing of the guesthouses on the street.

Last I was there, however, a giant hotel was going up and the guesthouse next door was quite loud, Wendy House I think. But, usually, that is a very good choice, altho the rooms are small they are friendly and clean.

It's been several years ago but the last time I stopped by the Reno it had just remodled it's common areas. The rooms themselves were beginning to get a little run down though, but this was made up for by the low rates per night. I kinda like the area too. A Klong Saen Saep boat dock is nearby as is the BTS National Stadium Station, Chula and MBK. If you've never been to Jim Thompson house it's well worth visiting and only a short walk away. One of the cheapest little outdoor restaurants in the city is on Kasemsan I or II too (can't remember which). I remember the prices being so low I had to ask the waitress if the bill was correct. She told me yeah, that's what we normally charge. One word of warning though, some of the best smooth talking con men in Thailand hang out around that area. Well dressed, excellent English, and polished schemes, so be extra wary of friendly srangers around there.

I know the Lub D Silom, well run, good to see a branch in the Siam area. A bit more expensive than the Reno, which is my top pick on Soi Kasem San I nowadays.

The good thing about staying the Siam area is you're on both BTS lines, and easy access east to Sukhumvit, west to Banglamphu, south to Silom/Sathorn and north to Vic monument/Ari, none more than 15 min away in off-peak traffic hours.

Vista Residence a newish hotel soi 3 Kasem San 1000 a night with breakfast.

I used to stay at a hotel in the shadow of National Stadium BTS. It is right next to the station under the platform on the oposite side from MBK.

I cannot remember the name but it was only 500 Baht a night when Nana area hotels were 900-1100 Baht. Good for a shopping trip to MBK and Panthip Plaza
