PATTAYA: -- A Colombian national arrested on the 18th of August with three of his compatriots has become a menace to the Pattaya Police, escaping their detention on two separate occasions following his initial arrest. During the first failed escape attempt the offender was shot twice by officers before later escaping from hospital while receiving treatment for his injuries.

Chon-Buri, the 22nd of August 2010: Mr. Eimar David Gilardo Artega [23], a Colombian national, was arrested last Wednesday, along with three of his compatriots, for the robbery of over 20 residences in the Pattaya City area, including that of a local police Lieutenant Colonel.

On the 19th of August (Thursday) while the four offenders were being transported to appear at the Pattaya District Court, Mr. Artega managed to free himself from his restraints before escaping into nearby bushland. Following a short case, officers shot Mr. Artega in the shoulder and hip in a bid to prevent his escape. The injured victim was then detained again and sent to the Banglamung Hospital for treatment (later transferred to the Chon-Buri Hospital).

Slippery bugger.

I have always laughed at Thai crimes when they get caught and transported back to the clink. They just sit there resolute to the fact they are caught. As this guy showed, it ain't the same with all nationals.

I love the Thai re-enacting the scene, a bit morbid in some cases, but is a little strange how easily they show how it was done!!

"including that of a local police Lieutenant Colonel."

That's the only reason he was caught.

They shot him in the hip and shoulder to prevent him running. lol

He probably stole a family photo or something and the boss was pissed, who wants to bet the 20th residence was the colonel's.

Awfully determined fella' ain't he ?

EXACTLY, they should have set Sifu loose, but much better to stop any competent attempts at police action and just have the bumbling corruption squad keep the status quo. I LOVE how this guy escaped TWICE, even after being riddled with bullets, these pattaya police couldnt do any real police work if their lives depended on it. Put them face to face with REAL criminals and they havent a clue what to do.

<snip> No more issues. Sometimes the Thai

Police are too considerate with asshol_e farangs (I have worked in Colombia and SA)

and believe me he would be shot dead by any South American police/prison unit during

second attempt.

Those nasty policeman are at it again.

Shame this didn`t happen in the UK. Over there the police would have been fired or imprisoned for shooting the poor Colombian drug dealer/robber, for not letting him escape that would have contravened his human rights.

Same thing would have happened in the US! Like those 2 border guards who got locked up for shooting that drug runner....sad....

I really like the thai police...they are becoming more like the philippines police..WOW..
