Community Villagers Demand Action After Foreigner’s Pit Bulls Maul Dog to Death
Once, back in my own country, I was bitten rather close to the heart—by a Tibetan wolfdog, no less. The owner? My health insurance agent. (Make of that what you will.) That incident left a scar and a lasting impression. For years after, whenever a dog barked, something stirred in me—tight, involuntary. Fear doesn’t leave politely. Fast forward to life on our Thai farm. I’m now co-owner of two adorable little rascals who strut around freely like they own the land. Every day, they eat lovingly cooked Thai meals, prepared by my wife—the true pack leader. Now, here’s the twist: once in a while, they wander off with their local dog gang and pay a surprise visit to a neighbor’s henhouse. The chickens squawk, feathers fly, and—inevitably—the owner shows up at our gate. Not thrilled. Fair enough. We considered buying little dog masks to keep them from biting or at least soften their image. (Thailand has a way of turning chaos into charm.) But the best solution turned out to be much simpler: we caught one of them in the act. And believe it or not, they never did it again. The real authority stepped in—my wife, the one who fills their bowls. She didn’t raise her voice, just raised an eyebrow. And that eyebrow has more weight than any fence or leash. Dogs, when signaled properly and consistently, are remarkably capable of learning. It’s not about punishment. It’s about presence. Timing. Respect. And maybe, just maybe, a little Thai rice with chicken. As the Thai say: “รักวัวให้ผูก รักลูกให้ตี” – “If you love your cow, tie it up; if you love your child, discipline them.” A proverb that sounds strict, but in reality, it speaks to care through responsibility. Boundaries show love. We’re judged not just by how we care for animals, but how we handle things when they go wrong. Responsibility, remorse, and action can heal wounds. Ignoring or downplaying it only breeds distrust and fear. Btw. in Thailand, the law falls under the Cruelty Prevention and Welfare of Animal Act (2014), and local police or the Livestock Department can be contacted. When a formal complaint was already filed then let authorities act—or let them explain why they’re not. -

MedPark and Bumrungrad are centrally located. Assuming you do nto otherwise have anything to do or place to stay on Thonburi side, I would probably opt for MedPark as bets tradeoff in terms of cost and location. But you can see him at any of these places, up to you. 2. For routine screening colonoscopy, any of the hospitals in Korat (Bkk Hosp, St Mary's, main govt hospital etc) should be OK or you could also do it at hospital where you consult urologist. He does occasionally add a favorite recipe. In Bangkok, I purchased the books at the KINOKUNIYA Bookstore - there are several stores, google the name of the store - Siam world is where I got mine. -

Dijon mustard. For salad olive oil. A sandwich can be semi healthy, add a bunch of fat dressing it is not. -

Skype to be shutdown in May
Still pulling out what little hair I have left... I bought a Tello sim and sent it to my brother in the US to activate. Tello customer support said it was active, but it never worked. That was perhaps two hours of my life wasted. My brother in the US spent a long time over several days trying to get Google Voice to work for me. He has used it in the past for work without issue. For some reason, we could not get it to work again. he was signed in on my Google account using his US IP address... we tried everything including opening 3 new accounts... nada. Next was VoIP.ms which Chat GPT recommended. OMG, what a freaking nightmare that app is. Starting with their Windows 95-ish outdated UI, nothing about this app is intuitive. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I got SMS and Voice Messages to work. To get calling to work requires a 3rd party SIP program. Tons of categories to fill out and most of them had unfamiliar terms that I had to look up. I would have to tweak my DNS, firewall, and router setting... screw that!!! Next was LocalPhone. It said from any country to any country when I signed up, then suddenly it said my 'region' was not supported. It suggested getting an 'internet phone number' through them. Then, it was a full screen of freaking coding that had to be installed to get it to work... no instructions on how to do this were included. I just looked into Viber, but the reviews turned me off. It seems highly unstable and calls get dropped. Sonetel was my next try... bad reviews there too. I have no idea what to try next.
