Where To Find Buses To Poipet In Pattaya?

Hello All!

I am looking to take a bus to Poipet for the day to meet with some friends. Where do I catch the bus? Would you recommend a tour bus? I need to stay in Poipet for about 5 hours. Are there any services that can accommodate? I am currently in Jomtien beach area of Pattaya.

I have been reading some scary things about poipet. I want to bring my laptop and iphone. Is this a bad idea? is there a good chance I will be robbed? I am Caucasian and have never been to Poipet - so does it make me an easy target?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

thx!

Yes, there is a Bus that goes from Pattaya to Poi Pet every day. It leaves Pattaya at 6am and gets to Poi Pet around 11am - then sets off to come back at 5.30pm. It is 200 bt per person. (Coffee and Bread served on the bus included)

You have to book it the day before, and it picks up at several locations around Pattaya, I get it at the top of Pattaya Klang, at the Petrol Station.

It is a Double Decker Bus that takes Thai People to the Casino at the Border for the day.

Let me know if you want the telephone number, and I will get it from my Partner, I will check back later this evening.

I go regularly as the Market at the border is HUGE.

Hello again.

The Bus I am talking about is sponsored by the Casino at the Poi pet Border I believe, and the fare is 200 Bt return.

I do not know if it picks up at Jomtien, you would have to ask them when you call.

I am also not sure if they speak English because my Thai Partner always rings them, so maybe you could get someone in Thai to telephone them for you.

Like I said earlier, it runs everyday, and the bus gets full, so you have to book it the day before you want to go.

I hope it is ok to give the Telephone number on here - it is 0818675003.

Also, if you travel with a Thai, they are entitled to go through at the border for the 100bt buffet, and they get 100 bt back also, so in effect the bus is Free for Thai, but not for us, we cannot go through on a day pass.

Hope this helps.

There is a mini-bus which leaves at

6

7.30

9

10.30

12

1.30

3

260 baht

Next to South Pattaya Road

There is a little connector street (to avoid the intersection) from Sukhumvit to South Pattaya Road, next to Big C, which has this little shop on it with an A-Board outside "CAMBODIA"

My mother took this bus the other day and was happy with it.
