 Jetskis pose as much danger out of the water than in. Drivers take special care when driving around the Chaweng Laem Din backroads around 7pm.. Convoys of jetskis on trailers are being towed home with NO lights on the trailers or the towing vehicles, especially on Soi Haad Ngam which is unlit !

Yes , it's quite amazing how many they line up, I took this last June, if I remember 20 or 25 being pulled in from the water at a time... around 6.30 or so.

I would never have guessed there so many of them... good thing there are quieter beaches around the island!

Driving them down any road with no lights is quite mind boggling!

Awareness is the key, being ALERT all the time, it's not the jetskies, it's not the uncountable other road hazards, it's ONESELF!

Here as anywhere else, everyone has to take responsibility into his/he very own hands, it's easy to point at the "other ones", but it's oneself who is in charge, yes or no?

Sorry Gentlemen, not meant to offend, but to ring the bell of awareness! B)

Would these be the same "jetski people" that are a law unto themselves, answerable to no one? Given carte blanche to threaten, menace and rip off tourists with impunity?

Yes, I'm aware one has to be aware Samuian, that is why I did not hit them last night but my post was meant for those who may not know this hazard exists and so RAISE your awareness when driving in the area. Driving on this island is becoming one big video game ! :annoyed:

They drive past my bar every morning and evening. 2 years ago they used to tow up to 12 jet skis in one go, but there were so many accidents when they tried to turn ( clipping cars and knocking over bikes). The BIB finally had enough because the local station is very close by and they were continuously being called out and interupting their poker games! Now they only tow up to 5 or 6 and it does seem to have reduced the accidents.

:) This is very convenient screaming eagle. Now in future when they come past your bar on their way home in the dark, don your Minister of Tourism suit and stop them if they are driving without lights. You can then direct them to the new police station nearby. I see a medal being awarded here !

Now I know!

'

Don't get "austin"tatious, frangible, chapped nor agitated Chappy!

I keep taking care, promised, won't trust anyone or any given situation here... but I could tell the audience a couple of hours about some horrific stunts displayed by some Farangio's, like drunk and at night around 22:00 beach road on the rear wheel of some motocross machine, or dong 120 down lakeside road, left hand on the mobile... I dunno, in rural countryside back in good "Old Dschermoney" there happen to be "John Deer" tractors and heavy farming equipment on the roads... it's as bad.. or in Winter, all those who crashed their cars, they all said: "the road was so slippery..." none, none could fathom that THEY THEMSELVES committed a mistake, nope... it's always the others!

it's something I always enjoyed in Asia, if you are not wide awake all the time, your gone in 60 Seconds...!

but then "Ahhh' well.." Nuff said..
