Maids In Thailand

The issue is further complicated by fact that a lot of women getting out of the red light business find jobs as maids or nannies because of their ability in English.

Far from being disadvantaged abused women they are more than willing to make a little cash on the side as it is a business they know better than tossing salad or washing clothes.

Not everyone is lucky enough to land a young good looking hi so farang and move to the west or build a mansion in Issan.

Or the pension stopped when the older farang hubby died and they are looking for work similar to what they did which is basically being a caretaker to an older gentleman.

In other words, such a maid is up for tossing all kindsa salad.

OP - Your wife chooses a good looking new maid then tells you that many maids are also required to 'take care' of the master of the house. :o

I think your wife is giving you a subtle (or not so subtle) message. ;)

Sadly, I think the wife is saying she finds the OP, sexually repulsive.... & I only say this because I used to hear the same stuff from my soon to be Thai X wife (praise God). Now the trouble with me was, I didn't take her seriously when she told me to get a mia noi, because she was not interested in sex with me... I mean really when it is down to 4 times a year... one would think she was being honest.

Now 5 years and over 170K USD gone and my 2 kids essentially stolen from me... I got the message...

They say divorce is expensive, because it is worth it.

OP, I wish you luck

what u are talking about is sexual harrassment towards someone who is usually not in a position to protest against the perp... hence, burmeses maids whose visas are based on the family they are living with...but im sure it would happen with thai maids as well, depending on circustances and in reference to the stigma of the ex pat /sex pat.... most of us here do not know what goes on in upper middle class or high class houses, behind closed doors, and unless u can read thai , and read the thai newspapers, if these cases get to the newspapers, we will never know the truth...

however,

im sure its more prevalent then we hear about, seeing as here in my country many filipina 'old people caretakers' have been victims of same... but being english speakers and having a supportive ex pat filipina/o worker community here, they complain... have heard stories of thai women here running away from their employers due to harrassment (extra duties traded for 'softer' work conditions)...

within thailand definately not as mia nois though... just pure sex on the side with women wo are vulnerable.... same as any other country that have younger girls/women as maids...

a mia noi would not be a maid. she would be maintained by the husband.

I think Bina is right, I think in most cases it is sexual harassmentand not consenting. However this doesn'tstop the rumor mill between the wives and mothers in Thailand. When I live with the now ex wife's family, they hired a maid while I was out of town. The maid was an 18 year old girl, who wasn't hard on the eyes. Right away, I knew this was going to be aproblem. I was only 30 at the time, andI worked at home, and after about a month, the wife is telling me that her momis gossiping with her friends and relatives that maid is trying to seduceme. This was all completely in herhead. I don't think she could understandthat me treating the maid with a little human dignity and not like a dog wasnormal for me. The mother would neverleave me alone in the house with the maid, and would always try to get me outof the house whenever she wanted to go out. The maid quit after a total of 2 months in the house, as the MIL madeher feel very uncomfortable.

I think there is some need among the wives here to blame themaids instead of their husbands, hence the OPs wife's comments. I think they are seeing seduction when in realityit is the strong preying on the weak.

Not really nice to suggest the OP isn't a stud now is it Mr Bitter & Twisted?

However, the rest of your post rings true. When my ex- suggested casually in lazy Sunday afternoon conversation that I could get a mia noi, it was a major <deleted>?! slap-in-the-face kinda wakeup call. Divorced a few years later with relatively minor fiscal damage and my meat and two veg still intact.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT... but by posting he already has.

My TGF tells me I am a good man for not butterflying. At no point she suggests that it would be unacceptable to butterfly- i'm guessing sleeping with the maid, though not ruining a relationship would just count as a negative to you.

Boinking your maid though, novelty porn fantasy at first. Few months later when you have to see her everyday is just another live in wife- nightmare!
