Just for a change of pace.

Can anyone explain the badges of rank of Thai Police officers, that is to say the 'commissioned' ranks.

Some seem to wear standard military insignia on their shoulder bars but assymetrically. Others symetrically. But I have old tired eyes so maybe I don't see straight.

OK You experts, you can rush in and put me straight!

Thanks George, this helps but, what I want is the actual insignia relating to the rank, especially for officers. for example, in most forces a Lieutenant Colonel would have a crown and a single star on both epaulettes.

Look at the policemen on TV news and some seem to have similar insignia (crowns, stars etc) but n ot always on both shoulders.

I should hate to address a General as Colonel. It could be visa limiting!
