lampard10
To all the Aussies. Very, very hard luck lads. I cannot gloat over that. What a great test match. One plus point is that yorkie can in with his mate to watch the Oz demise and ended up having three beers each. Eric Davis
England clinch thrilling victory Second Test, Edgbaston (day four) England 407 & 182 beat Australia 308 & 279 by two runs England survived a last-ditch Australia fight back to complete a thrilling two-run victory in the second Test and level the Ashes series at 1-1. Australia were on the brink of victory when last man Michael Kasprowicz gloved Steve Harmison behind. Kasprowicz and Brett Lee, who hit 41 not out, put on 59 for the last wicket, chasing a ground record target of 282. Shane Warne had begun the day with a defiant 42 before he trod on his wicket playing back to Andrew Flintoff. Flintoff, who did the damage on the third day with an innings of 73 in England's second innings 182 then taking three wickets, finished with 4-79. http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/sport1/hi...and/4128908.stm

Col Bill Kilgore
Sorry, I can't see the man of the series listed here!! He's got the record for the number of sixes hit in a test against the Aussies 6 wickets in the Edgbaston test 141 runs over two innings MoM performance at Edgebaston **FREDDIE FLINTOFF** The only mistake he made in the second test was not breaking Brett Lee's hand!! Pink Mist
The big question here was and still is, " why did Ponting make that decision " still it's history now and has breathed a bit of life into the series and cricket in general.
lampard10
The big question here was and still is, " why did Ponting make that decision " still it's history now and has breathed a bit of life into the series and cricket in general. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would imagine he dismissed the England 3-11 as no hopers (barring Pieterson) and reckoned if he got the two openers out the rest would follow. That and a nagging fear in the back of his mind about Englands pace attack on a greeish wicket..............................................it all boils down to, we've got you thinking, if not worried. Eric Davis
One lesson to be clearly learned here is that the Aussies had a massive moral victory in Brunnieland. The tail was fantastic and ENG will have though themselves very lucky indeed to get out on top. Siam_superfly
Very lucky.....they usually manage to win one test...even when played in Australia... cant wait until they have to face up to a full strength Australian side again..... Lampard...worried ???......ur guys would be worried, about how ur "oh so great bowling attack" couldnt dismiss our tail until 3 runs from victory......
